The lawyers in this place do not do competent work. They do not answer calls. They do not reply to emails. They simply do not communicate with clients. Don't go to this terrible place unless you want to lose your case. Both the managing attorney Akiko Takeshita and the immigration supervisor Louella Sugui should be disbarred.

If I could, I would give it no star for this place. I called for my DV case. The assistant told me she would pass my case to an attorney and call me back in a week. Three weeks passed. Nothing happened. When I called them back, the assistant told me she couldn’t find my case file and will call me back ASAP. She called me back in a hour to tell me they cannot take my case and refer me to Bay Area Legal Aids. Wow!! I wasted 3 weeks for nothing. I know these people are underpaid and overworked but they took 3 weeks to tell me they cannot take my case. Wow!!! Better to get a private attorney. It might cost a lot but it would be faster.

Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. Called to get info on elder abuse. The woman who picked up the phone was chewing food with her mouth open and made it clear she wasn’t there to put effort into her job. Kept referring me to their website and finally hung up on me despite the fact that I was polite and respectful. Called back but no one picked up again.

Great organization that does some really amazing work!
