Magdelena law in my opinion is a waste of money -
She was combative - court papers contained false statements including her clients income and expense document - which was sloppy and the math did not even add up- clearly not reviewed. She cost both sides over 100k where the outcome was literally the same that we supposedly agreed to at mediation months earlier.. the mediator spent most of the day with my ex and Magdelena law trying to show them this is how it’s gonna go.. and 9 months and over 100k later he was correct.

Magdelena was like a novice at my depo ( my opinion only) her questions were unresearched and poorly prepared - she asked things that were easy to anticipate and often blocked her in - I kept thinking did this lady even read the case - at one point she thought I was in a past lawsuit that was not mine - she also threw me a bank statement and said explain this 20k debt we found. It was a charged off account 20 years old.
She subpoenad 7 banks I did not have accounts with - I only had 1 and provided it at discovery. Conversly We got her client in lies at her depo -one being past checks she initially claimed no knowledge of / after a break to confer with Magdelena, she came back with tears in her eyes admitting she signed the checks- then get this, Magdelena in her trial brief actually claimed I forced my ex to sign those checks as a way of sucking her into some conspiracy back in 2008 ( our divorce was this year) ya I thought it was a laughable joke too. She had no trial strategy I could discern and I felt her experts and client were poorly prepped and armed with not all the info they needed but could have been if Magdelena was less lazy ( trust me it was my info and it was in plain sight and Magdelena missed it)
In the end she settled as I figured she would.
I felt she was a bad negotiator- I prepared to settle a long time prior on better terms for my kids -her abrasive attitude and her conduct made me decide to go for trial she then proposed a settlement on the eve of trial almost same terms as we offered months earlier

one IT “expert”witness she hired could not even identify my phone number when he was deposed - and that was pretty much his job. In fact his testimony was based on evidence that was supressed by the judge ( because it was baseless). expert money wasted and nothing to show on her end.

Did I mention she threatened to sue me for posting - I have the email - even went so far as to say this would merit a restraining order against my family as my poor review of Magdelena somehow is a threat to my ex and her peace.
( ya my lawyer laughed at that too). She tried before to get a restraining order and failed miserably - I think the judge wrote something like - both parties were here a week ago and there was no mention of any of this stuff that is claimed on the TRO you need - denied
on every sub she filed against me she got my birthday wrong maybe delaying the production of evidence she needed. She even subpoenaed a company I didn’t work for - she tried to be so aggressive it backfired. She seems very emotional to me. Not really factual and no attention to detail My observations only.

I was prepared to keep my kids in our family home but Magdelena was so combative (even posturing the community property was not half mine) I fought back and sadly the home is being sold and kids are moving out -had she displayed the ability to negotiate and think of solutions I would have agreed - kids would be there now in our home. I hope they find a new place they like. It’s heartbreaking.
Magdelena was not our for what was best for the kids. Seemed like she was in it for herself in my opinion and wanted to keep the conflict going to run up her bill. But that’s based on my observations.

This law firm has all inexperienced attorneys and paralegals. I hired them to handle a child support case my son's father filed against me and they turned a simple support case into a smear campaign against my son's father. When I confronted them about this, Magdalena and her co-attorney became very defensive and abrutly said they no longer want to represent me.
