I had a case against one of the largest companies in California. No attorney wanted to touch it because of the complexity of the case and who the company was. Luckily I found Steve. He went up against all of their attorneys and won the case without me ever having to step into the court room. His no nonsense take control attitude in the deposition was awesome to watch. This is a very polished and experienced firm. After being told by other firms that I did not have a case, Mr. Cohn listening carefully to my facts and came up with a successful strategy. He was very affordable and even told me how I could save tens of thousands of dollars by covering certain fees, but also offered a contingency fee. I just read Mary’s review, and she is completely wrong. Mr. Cohn has helped me through numerous employment issues over the years, as well as a number of my colleagues. All of us have had a consummate professional!!! Not only is he gracious and very caring, but he also gets outstanding results. Mr. Cohn also received a state bar pro bono award for free legal services in the public good. The firm's website has scores of reviews which demonstrate that Mary is clearly misintrepreting her brief call. In addition, it looks like she was never a client. How unfortunate!

Called this place today but it was too early. So I figured I'd call back later in the day. I then received a call from a blocked number, it ended up being Steven. He then began to make assumptions based on my phone number, asking me questions. I was very skeptical because 1. it was a blocked number 2. I did not give any information to them when I called the first time(I hung up because it was too early)

Overall, Steven is rude. I had one phone call interaction with him and I could only imagine how much awful he is in person. Lack of professionalism for someone who has been practicing for so many years. He doesn't even know how to treat potential clients over the phone. Instead of being rude and stating "This isn't going to work out for me." No interpersonal skills whatsoever.

It is hard to find a defense attorney for an accident case when you are held guilty.
I searched online, found multiple lawyers, but all refused to take my case.
Cohn was awesome from the first moment I talked to him.
Cohn called me back the same day, when I left a note on his social site. Very responsive, very positive about my case. I had a sigh of relief that there is someone at least to talk to about my situation.
I and my wife went to his office the following day, Cohn said in the first meeting that my case was really weak and he would do his best but there were many ways that the plaintiff attorney can cause harm to me.
Our plaintiff attorney was also very strong and very experienced in car accident cases, that he has been doing for decades. The first meeting was demotivating for me.

But over the time Cohn built a plan and various arguments and situations that supported be and that could bring me out of the situation.
He had to fight my insurance company, who were not providing me proper coverage, he had things in place to go to the builder whose negligence was one of the factors influencing the accident.
All this worked and made my case really strong and finally the plaintiff attorney did not file a lawsuit against me.
This was a journey of 18 months, and there were ups and downs, but Cohn was great throughout this journey.
Cohn has extensive experience working with insurance firms, working in insurance firms has a good connect with the lawyer community, he is a lot respected and he taking your case itself is half won for you.

The best part of the engagement was, Cohn went much beyond what we had signed up at the start. He went beyond what we had agreed. Because over the time we had built a relationship, he felt for us and understood what challenges in life we were going through. We had just come from India, we were settling down, I had my son starting this college very soon, I had issues with my job. But Cohn was still there, he is like a direct blessing from God.
I never had to follow up, he was always on the job, and every time I would call, he had updates for me, and many times he would just call me with an update.

I was out of the situation, I got a letter of closure from the plaintiff.
I live more confidently and happily now. I owe a lot of this to Cohn.

BTW, I had a wonderful experience at his office, nice office, the staff is very professional, very responsive.
I used to get responses the same day and would be in meeting or call with Cohn, as soon as he was available.

The worst attorney I have ever met. No moral value.

Went in to see Mr. Cohn a little over a year ago regarding an employment issue. He listened to my story, told me that I had a case and said that he would write letters to my employer to try and get it settled, but that he wasn't necessarily 'representing me'. Should've seen the red flags there, but I must've been blinded the stress of the potential litigation. I should also note that I did research on my case, and provided Mr. Cohn with case law relevant to my case.
He sent the first letter to my employer and the sought after amount had gone up tenfold, so I, unfortunately, assumed that my case was not only valid, but firm. My employer sent out a rejection letter shortly thereafter, which Mr. Cohn stated was commonplace. Mr. Cohn then sent a second letter - and that would be the last that I would hear from him. I emailed him countless times - left multiple messages - and even had his support staff schedule telephone meetings - at least six - all to no avail.
So now, not only do I not know the outcome of my case, but he informed me early on that any litigation was time sensitive - so I don't even know if I can still file!
So, long story short, if you're in a tough spot, Mr. Cohn will only make it tougher. I'm in the process of following up with the California Bar now.

I was referred to this firm by another past client and found them to be extremely competent and caring in dealing with a very difficult job situation where I was being harassed by my supervisor and my management would not act. I got excellent advice from attorney Steven Cohn which ultimately got the supervisor removed and my job saved. His staff was also very attentive. I also see that the attorney has dozens of top reviews and awards posted to their website as well.

I have read the other review for this great attorney on Google, and this doesn't match my experience at all. I also see that the reviewer wasn't a client, and never actually met anyone at the office, but says that he wasn't listened to during a call. The guy was calling for someone else and got into a shouting match with the office reception? Too bad he didn't connect with this attorney and still has, apparently, only bad things to say about lawyers. He should talk to the attorney and get advice before he bashes professionals he hasn't worked with on line . I highly recommend this polished and caring law firm. 5 STARS!

DO NOT contact this worthless attorney. I called for a simple consultation to see if he would be the correct avenue to go through for me and my wife to come in and speak to him. He talked through me the entire time, wouldn't let me get ONE word in, edge wise, was almost yelling at me - didn't understand what I was trying to say at all because he talked the whole time, didn't open his ears like a professional, and hung up on me. He is atrocious. Absolutely despicable. DO NOT waste your time of this worthless firm or expect any help!
