I’m very disappointed and surprised on the lack of customer service and communication from these people. The sad part is that I’ve sent a friend to them and now I feel horrible because they are now in the same situation.
Farid and Gramm both of this firm were assigned to my case. They were friendly, professional, respectful and very attentive to my need. I am glad I got to work with them and the firm. I highly recommend this firm if you need a place where you will be treated with dignity and your case gotten what it deserves. Great firm, great people.
Long story.
I was contacted by a new patient after he was in a accident. He asked me if I would see him and I let him know I would work on him so long as it wasn't going to be on a lien or a personal injury case, as I don't take them. The patient had a coverage through his car insurance referred to as Medpay that would allow me to bill his insurance directly, which we agreed we would do.
I saw the patient for 2 visits and then didn't hear back from him again. This is not uncommon for someone who wasn't badly injured, so I didn't think much of it. I billed his medpay as planned. The medpay sent me a statement saying they paid the bill in full and that the check would be sent separately.
About a month later I had not received the check so I started to call the insurance company. I finally was able to have someone research what happened and they determined that they had sent the check to the patients lawyer, him opening a case was news for me.
I got the contact info and called the law firm (Downtown LA law.) at this point it was a full 2 months after they said they sent the check. I talked to his representation on the phone and explained they had received a check in error and that I was not working on a lien and that I needed them to send the check to my office. I was told she would look into it and get it figured out. (at this point the case was still open) A few weeks later I had not heard back, so I started to call and email the law firm, nobody called me back. I probably called and emailed at least 6 times.
I was finally able to get a hold of someone in Mid August, and they told me they had just settled and gave the patient the money, and that I needed to get the money from him. I asked them why they would release the money, and they said the patient said "He would take care of the bill." I contacted the patient and he said he was never told part of his settlement was to be paid back towards me.
Here is the issue. The law firm was given a check for a doctor not in their records, for dates of service before they represented them. I then contacted the law firm months before they paid out any money and explained to them they had received a check for me, the doctor. At this point, never should they have given the patient that money. It was not their money to give, and not his money to receive. During this entire process I wasted hours trying to collect the money, and ultimately I was only able to collect 2/3rds of the money from the patient. The patient swears he wasn't told he has to pay it back and the lawyers swears he promised. As of now it is a "he said she said" and it should have never gotten to that point.
At no time did the law firm attempt to fix this issue with me. Each time they just tell me the case is closed and they no longer represent the client. They got paid, the patient got paid, and I got 2/3rds of my pay, even though I was never a part of this settlement to begin with.
The communication, and sloppy handling of this case assures me I will never take a case, nor will I suggest this firm to any of my patients. I have spoken to two different personal injury attorneys regarding this and they both told me that the fact they gave the patient money and left a doctors payment unpaid although they were aware of the situation is completely unprofessional, and they have both suggested I contact the board and lodge a complaint.
Being I lost a couple hundred dollars trying to deal with this company, professionally, the least I could do is write a yelp review about the process
He was very courteous and spent time advising me on how to settle my claim. I really appreciate the guidance and insight he offered.
I had accidentally contacted Farid's firm in an attempt to contact my lawyer, who had ignored me for months. Farid contacted me himself within minutes of me talking to a live representative of theirs online (and this was really late at night, too). Farid truly cares about people, and not money like other lawyers. He has no business hours, because he's available anytime to help.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Farid to anyone, and everyone with his firm. Every person I have spoken to from there has been polite, professional, and caring. They have a practice ran by ethics, not greed.
I was in a bad car accident where I was essentially knocked unconscious after getting hit head-on when I was coming off the freeway. Someone swerved across traffic or lost control of his car and hit me. I woke up later in the hospital in a cast and had trouble breathing. They told me that I had a bad concussion and a lot of internal injuries, plus I broke my leg. I had other damages that were not as serious but still needed treatment. Since I had no memory of the incident and couldn’t really gather any evidence, I hired Farid after looking for a good auto accident lawyer in Los Angeles.
Farid took control of the case for me and went through all the necessary routes. He spoke with the police whom responded to the scene, he acquired the accident report, as well as the information of the other driver. He also collected all of my medical bills and treatment receipts, and made sure that my employer had an estimate for how long I would be out and also what I would be missing.
The hard work and effort that Farid put in seemed above and beyond what anyone would do for me, as I was under the impression that I would have to do a lot myself; however, Farid didn’t need me to lift a finger.
In the end, all the evidence he gathered meant that the insurance claim was rock solid. He spent a bit of time negotiating, but the settlement came very swiftly. Fortunately, the majority of my car repairs were completed while I was still recovering; also, Farid made sure that I received pain and suffering damages.
I know that I will never have to find another lawyer again after working with Farid and seeing how well he treated me and my case. He and everyone at the DTLA Law Group were extremely helpful and I highly recommend them.
Stay away from this attorney at all cost. He will send you to over priced medical places and if defendent wont settle he will drop you. He will also leave you high and dry with all your medical bills. This shady place just wants settlements and never will go to court for you
They were professional and they took care of my case when prior attorneys failed. They contacted me to help know where they were with my case. I appreciate their hard work plus how kind they were. Susanna was great too. If you're ever in need of a good attorney they're the people to go to.
Thank u for all ya hard work
