Unfortunately Janice Alfred was not the lawyer I thought she was. In the beginning she was very helpful and attentive. Months went by and we did not communicate because there was no need at the time, but then back in September-December I began dealing with a lot of hostility from my child’s father and needed her help and advice. It took me weeks of calling, texting, and emailing to get a phone meeting with her. When we finally spoke in December, she last told me she would follow up with me in the next week. I never heard back from her to this day. I sent countless emails, texts, phone calls. Times that I really needed her, she was not there.& it is really unfortunate because I really thought she could help me or at least be helpful to me. I paid $2500 for nothing in my opinion. And then I randomly get an invoice from her not even using my full retainer. I just find all of that to be highly unprofessional. I went from one lawyer being a pushover to another one being absent and never available. Smh.
