Newton County in my up opinion is corrupt. Sit through hearings and public defender do not show you your discovery until the status hearing. They do this so you wont have time to think about your options. Asked many people and they all said the same. Lawyers outside Newton said they won't even work there. The Probabation is a joke. I was verbally attacked and was terrified. Was trying to get someone help and they refused to answer a single question. The man was paranoid and said he knew what I was up to. Was so scared I will never go back without an officer escort. The person I was trying to seek help in now sitting in detention for nearly six months without any help so far. She is also a elderly mentally disabled and has heart problem. She has had cancer and they refuse to do scope to see if it has come back. So needless to say she has suffered abuse from her stay there. Of course the judge Wynne seems to think his filling his west central is MORE important then her getting help. She had insurance and could have gotten immediate help. But it didnt fit in their scheme. So my suggestion to all is get out of newton county as quick as possible. You won't get fair representation. Someone should investigate them.
