Wendell was just simply incredible from start to finish. I was a nervous wreck after filing bankruptcy. I didn’t understand what was going to happen, my self esteem was at an all time low and I was scared of the unknown, very scared. The first thing Wendell did was to help me understand that everything was going to be OK, and helped me feel better about myself. He took the time to do that before we got much more into the bankruptcy details. He is an excellent communicator and when some tough subject came up, he would sprinkle his conversations and emails with a little humor. He was explaining the effect of having the bankruptcy “dismissed” and said as an example, “a man was dismissed from his job for telling his boss that he looked like a turnip” He was available by phone some of the time, but always responded to email questions as soon as he could. Wendell had the ability to explain things very simply and understandable. He always responded to questions, and was always polite. Even after the bankruptcy Wendell was quick to respond to any questions or concerns that came up and always asked how I was doing. Bankruptcy is no fun. I got upside down on a couple of rentals during the real estate crash of 2007-2008, and couldn’t recover.. I can’t imagine anyone else handling my bankruptcy with the same care, wisdom and compassion that he showed the entire time.

Wendell, his wife and support staff were very knowledgeable, professional and patient with us as we went through our chapter 13. He maintained open dialogue with us, was frank but supportive about going through the process.
All steps and options were explained and it was not a shame session but presented matter of factly as a common event in today's society.
Moreover, you will get the sense that Wendell is a fighter, completely at ease in his environment and with your interests in mind.
Bankruptcy is not a desirable situation but if I know of someone considering it I am strongly recommending them to seek counsel with SherkLaw.

I can’t say enough positives about Mr Sherk and Rebecca his wife and paralegal. I was terrified at the idea of bankruptcy and my hands were shaking so badly during our first visit was not able to write my name. He was patient, kind, very professional and quickly calmed my fears and doubts. We did opt for Chapter 7 and Mr Sherk guided me through the Voluntary Petition. At the meeting with the trustee he was there and had told me what to expect so there were no surprises. At every step Mr Sherk explained everything in a manner that my non lawyer mind could understand. He was extremely helpful with any guilt or shame about my choosing bankruptcy and he quickly allayed any negative emotions I may have had about the decision. I recommend Wendell Sherk for legal guidance with any financial/debt challenge or a desire to declare bankruptcy. He is terrific!
I've met with several lawyers. This firm is better than the rest by far. Consultation was very professional and I wasn't rushed like I was with others. He took his time with me. His assistant was helpful and nice. I wasn't uncomfortable despite my uncomfortable situation. Mr. Sherk is knowledgeable, experienced, respectful and kind. I'm glad and at ease knowing he's going to be my lawyer.
