I urge you to seek another attorney!!!! Joedy Defrank has NO ethics, he was always late to my court dates, never submitted the evidence on my behalf to the courts, very poor communication. I hired Joedy to handle documents and to represent me in my time of need in a family court situation. He failed horribly and had the nerve to talk badly about others to me. I live 2000 miles away from my home state (CA) I paid Joedy good Money thinking he was well suited for the situation I was in. But turns out he is just a take your money and do nothing kind of guy. Im sure he owes me money. Never wrote out receipts for what he did, even after asking for them. Trust me, there is a better Attorney/ Lawyer. Be patient and find the better one.

AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. If I could give him less stars I would. He is a scam artist. He does absolutely nothing. He never calls me back.
He has even gone as far as changing his Yelp name to hide the bad reviews. Look for de frank joedy atty.
His secretary would leave me on hold for so long until I would hang up. Then she would just ignore my calls. I know that because she answer immediately when I called from my another number. She proceeded to say he answered but my connection was bad.

When he finally did answer my call weeks later he said I was a low priority client. My question is after working with him for little under a year. With all of this. How does he have any clients.
# Took 2 grand and did nothing
After my loss I was sent an invoice for a grand more. When he has never explained how the original grand was used.
# Never showed up to court
He would miss court. An claim he was never served with the papers. So he "would file" an appeal. Which never shows up in the case files. *If you go online you can check the progress of your case, just cannot download any files* It's all public information. That is how I know hes a lair. What papers he did "service" the respondent. Were never signed dated or even filed with the court.
# Would leave aggressive voicemails
I got a call from a very angry ex, whom shared with me the voicemails he would leave them. Hostile, boarderline violent, mean and threatening them. I hired him yes but not to abuse my ex.
# He would Submit to the courts unfinished, poorly written and badly spelled documents.
Every document he did submit was poorly written and always misspelled. The judge laughed at this. I looked like an idiot.
# He never updated me on my case
Up until the last court date. I never knew what was happening. Only thing he would tell me is that my pos ex would get what's coming. That I was in complete compliance of the law. When it came down to the last court date I was almost thrown in jail for my negligence. I was listening to my lawyers advice and it nearly wound me up in jail. Not only that I now have to pay 6x more then what I would have been if I never hired him.
# Nor told me I needed to file or submit any documents.
I was never told I had to submit any kind of documents. Which helped my ex win there case.
# I lost my case due to his negligence.
Not only did I lose, he was not even sorry and the day before court he charged me another grand which I never got back after the loss.
# I never recieved a single email or document from him or his secretary.
He never showed me how he spent my retainer. My ex showed me the timesheets they recieved from there lawyer. Down the the minute was charged and labled.
# He would claim to have never recieved any sort or document or summons from the respondent.
He played dumb saying he never recieved anything even after I saw that he was faxed everything. I dont understand we took an oth and he flat out lies. Over and over. To the point I feel he honestly believes it. There is something seriously wrong with this man.
He has a very high level of expertise specifically dealing with social services. If you respect him and keep things short the conversation will go well. My case isn't finished so I will update accordingly.

This attorney was amazing for my family. I don't think things would have turned out so well without him. He absolutely saved the day for us. He has a presence about him that puts other attorneys to shame. If you have tried other attorneys and been disappointed or you are at your wits end and need the best, go see him. The saying goes “Those you meet in life are either a lesson or a blessing” is so true and my hiring Mr. Defrank was a lesson to me as to the people I wished I never met and hired for services in my life.
Once I paid Mr. Joedy Defrank his required fee of $2500 and signed the contract with him, I was left hanging in the dark every day, without any phone calls nor emails to me as to how he would represent me moving forward with my divorce/alimony proceedings. He was my second attorney I hired since my first one didn't do anything for me. My continued phone calls to him, leaving voice messages for him to do so and even my CA attorney cousin writing him an email, pleading with him to just touch base with me before my upcoming court hearing and also a trial left me so anxious and upset I didn't know what to do. He never discussed strategy with me to prepare me for my upcoming court proceedings which I find to be most unprofessional in my opinion. Mr. Defrank does not value anything you say to him, very abrupt and short.
I will leave it there and you can decide for yourself if he is a good fit for you as to your attorney.
