Great attorney

This is the worst lawyers office I have ever been to. They are rude, take your money, and provide no follow up whatsover regarding your case. I left messages, sent an email, and received ZERO response from our so called lawyer. Do yourself a favor, save your money and go somewhere else!

Getty has been my family lawyer for years. Getty has helped me through SOOOO much and has always gotten my charge dropped or lessened. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I 100% recommend Getty.

One is too high of a score for this joke of a attorney!! My friend gave him $5,000 for a pretty simple divorce. He told her everything she wanted to hear.... until it took him 11 months to even get a court date for light alimony!!! That means she got ZERO money to live on!! She was married 38 years so everything should have have been cut & dry. When she’d call upset because 10 months later, no kids involved, and she had no bed, no means to live on.....of course she’s upset!! Instead of explaining to her why everything was taking sooooo long, he’d yell at her. Anyone who’s been through a divorce knows tension & nerves run high. How mr .Getty handled that was not to ever call her back when she needed to know something, yell at her, threaten to quit, THEN informs her he knows her ex’s family!!! But he said that wouldn’t alter her case. ( yeah right)
When he FINALLY got to court for light alimony he called her and asked if 700 would be ok? She said he’ll no. He called back w another low ball number & she had to refuse it. Finally she said no less than 1,100!!!! HE SHOULD HAVE NEGOTIATED FOR HER WELL BEING!!! Again, 11 month in & he’s spent 7,500 FOR NOTHING!! In Virginia there’s a formula they go by with the husbands salary/retirement and the wife’s income. Her husband never wanted her to work so she didn’t. She did EVERYTHING around the house including mowing grass & shoveling snow!! She hasn’t gotten anything from her home, waited almost a year for any funds, and he hasn’t even dug into the husbands bank accounts yet! Listen to these ppl when they say run. Unfortunately we didn’t see the reviews before hand. His arrogance alone is a turn off. And it’s not the type of arrogance that will help you in court.

After hearing mixed reviews I decided to go to Fred Getty to clear my case. I was given a fair price and not expected to pay a penny more. I got the best possible outcome with Fred on my side and I was very pleased with his dedication to my case. The lawyers in general are of a certain personality and you would expect a bit of "cockyness" considering what they do, regardless of the situation Fred had my back and I would highly recommend Fred Getty!!

RUN!!! The other reviews are right. Quoted 1500 flat for a minor real estate case. Pawned it off on his "junior lawyer" that cussed and had an attitude about everything. We trusted these people and their word only to receive a bill in the mail 2 weeks after for 13,000! People please run this people are crooks. This was no child support, divorce, or criminal case only a minor real estate case one day in General District. They do they and people have to keep making payments to support his fox hunting and brand new Mercedes Benz. They lie, deceive, and will rob you. It's pathetic. I'm posting this so other people will know the truth about these people.

I went to Getty and Associates for a custody battle after being referred to Fred Getty. My first appointment, although costing $150, was really great. Despite hearing the exact opposite of what I wanted to hear, I felt confident with Mr. Getty on my side. He listened to the needs of myself and my partner and approached us with humor, easing my very unsettled nerves. He informed us at the end of this meeting that I would be working with Joanna in the future, as a cost saving measure, until the actual trial.
I appreciated this, thinking it would save money, not understanding that she would be learning how to do her job on my dime. I met with Joanna twice, and both times felt like she was going to do hours of research on topics that someone in her position should already know. She was supposed to help me with the custody battle, yet knew nothing about the questions I asked, despite it being a pretty common case. She thought that recordings of the father saying he didn't care if his child was dead were irrelevant, and didn't clearly didn't understand what was stated on other recordings. She suggested getting a background check with a "PI," who was in the mortgage business rather than a PI, and merely repeated back the information I already knew, and charged me $125. (I sent the same information to Ward Investigations and got 5x as much information for $50). She also insisted on doing certain paperwork that I could easily do myself, simply to rack up her hours. I decided not to push forward with trail and retracted what little was left of my retainer. Overall, I spent well over $1000 with Getty and Associates and felt like I gained nothing.
