This non-profit organization provides expert advice and knowledgeable guidance to all San Francisco renters free. The Tenants Union staff consist of trained professionals who are ready to assist you in finding the best solution. With several years of experience in Tenant/Landlord disputes they are highly competent in all the current local codes and laws.

Amazing resource in San Francisco! Please support these folks as they do good work.

I am a Member. It is not expensive to join. The staff are mainly volunteers. There are many complex situations that arise in SF rentals and.leases. A quagmire. They will give you a book that explains the principles.

This is the best ally to have if you are having any struggle with your landlord. I've used them multiple times in the last 37 years and I might be homeless without their help. That and the San Francisco Rent Control Board.

The tenants union helped me and my roommate with good advice concerning our eviction due to our building being taken off the rental market under the Ellis Act. Staff is very helpful and will help you understand your rights as a tenant and will give you a list of attorneys if you need one.

The Tenants Union is a priceless weapon to help you fight against cutthroat, money grubbing landlords. The TU knows it's business inside and out, even better than the majority of tenant rights lawyers out there.
Living in San Francisco 22 years I have sought advice/information from the TU about three times. Each meeting they gave me solid, extremely insightful information.
A very good friend of mine just had his rent doubled from $1,100 to $2,200 a month even though he has been a upstanding tenant for the past 19 years in a row. Landlords that promote this modern day piracy against good tenants need to be held accountable. Luckily for renters in San Francisco the Tenants Union is there for you.
