I was referred to Lucy McAllister through a Family Lawyer in another county to help me obtain a Restraining Order of a violent and deranged individual. My case was not the easiest to prove because only verbal threats had been made by this point, the other party was not a Santa Clara resident, and he very motivated to avoid being issued a permanent Restraining Order. Lucy reviewed the evidence I had gathered, interviewed the possible witnesses, selected the strongest testimonies to present, ensured that the selected witnesses were prepared to testify in court, that our case was well laid out, and that we successfully adapted her strategy to the presiding judge’s concerns, hot buttons, and challenges for that given day. We had to appear 3 separate times in court because the other party continued to present *new* false testimony, modified evidence, and contradicting statements required rebuttal testimony and evidence. Also upon successfully obtaining the permanent Restraining Order I had amassed $10,000 of legal expenses, largely due to the other parties attempt to delay and deceive the court, which I wanted the other party to rightfully pay. Lucy was able to successfully have the judge issue an order that the other party to pay the entire legal expenses as well. While I would not wish anyone to have to go to court, if you have to go you might as well ensure that you win, and to that end I have no reservations of referring others to Lucy’s offices.

RUN AND DONT LOOK BACK....

Lucy is basically a pirate looking for criminals to extort during their hard times. After paying her very expensive retainer (She based her charge off my bail amount and not the charges them self..) She was VERY hard to get a hold of, I ended up having to communicate through email and I would always get a very vague statement in response. Almost never actually addressing my concerns. For claiming to have handled many criminal cases of similar fashion she had a very primitive way of looking at things. She was referencing things of how the court would react as if it were the 60s, of course the court never reacted in that manner and were more on the line of how I thought they would react, in a more modern way.

When it comes time for court appearances she will just say she is busy that day 5 min before the court appearance and say her assistant is coming to represent you. I hired you to defend me not your assistant, and if it came down to it and your assistant made a mistake in court, I would be affected not her or her firm.

When asking her what she thought the outcome would be all she has to say was "I dont want to scare you." Im a grown man and when it comes to the courts if you are going to jail you will need to do whatever you can to accommodate that time inside making sure your financials and family are going to be ok. Mrs.Mcallister saying that statement and not being upfront about it is what scared me, who knows what she has planned for me because I sure didn't.

So for the rest of my lengthy court proceedings I was left in the dark not really knowing what the outcome would be, I was basically preparing to go to jail. Fortunately the DA offered a deal with no jail time and all she could say was "I'm surprised by this deal, its a good deal" and that to me means she was ready to accept a deal with me going to jail and not even fight for a better deal and after talking with many others charged with the same crime they all had offers with no jail time and that was with a Public Defender.

So basically she did nothing to defend my case, no pre-trial motions, nothing except for waiting for an offer from the DA, and its up to the DA to decide what deal is fair, which I am kind of glad of because if she had to come up with a deal I certainly would have had to serve time in jail.

Word of Advice Mrs.Mcallister, Stick to Family Law and Licensing.

We are putting the outcome of our freedom in your hands and you act in careless fashion just looking to make a quick buck off people who are already in a trying time. We don't need the extra stress of wondering if we made the right decision on a lawyer.

UPDATE: Since Mrs, Ms, Mcallister or whatever your Title is, I didnt make it my job to remember that part but I sure do remember your name, decided to reply, I would like to mention that the thousands of $$$ I paid for your services were quite real, And if she had put in the same amount of effort as she did in making that reply then maybe she would have been a decent lawyer. Unfortunately just about everything you said was far from the truth. I am a real client, I may use an alias online and that is for good reason, You are a lawyer and I think you would do something malicious if you had my real name. That is how much trust I have for your credentials you carry. Anyone Thinking of retaining her services CHECK YELP REVIEWS!!! I am not the only one here, and why you always amount to "this is a fake competitor post" to any negative review is quite astonishing if you think you have no negative reviews from previous clients. Instead of worrying about your online feedback you should actually do the things you describe in your reply, because honestly I think I might have been better off with a public defender, not to mention I would have saved thousands.

Also I love how most of your reviews are so generic and vague, "Great Job" "Good Lawyer" barely any of your "reviews" actually go into depth as mine did, and obviously not to this extent but you can clearly see the Fake bot posts to the real ones.

Can't speak highly enough about Lucy's assistance on my Board of Registration complaint. This complaint had been hanging over me for the last two years and with Lucy's subtle handling of the issue I got a letter in the mail to say that the complaint had been closed and that the Board would not be taking any action against my license.

Lucy represented my husband in his case for a certificate of rehab for a case that happened over a decade ago. Although, it took a while she helped us through the whole process and we were sucessfully granted a cert of rehab, so he can move on from his past. Thank-you Lucy for your help you and your team have been great to us. I would recommend Lucy in a heartbeat for any of your criminal legal needs

Wow! I found myself in a situation where the first judge stated a requirement that I fulfill for my judgement, when Lucy and I went back to court to show proof , we got a different judge who did not agree with the first judge. Lucy, argued this judge was far off base with his opposition to the initial requirement and argued her point like a boss. Not only was I lucky to have Lucy has my attorney because this judge was a straight up bully who thought he could make up his own laws, but I got to witness Lucy do what she does, which is know the law, confidently and to argue it rationally. The judge got schooled, but he did not back down (surprise).
In the end, we requested and got a new court date with the original judge.
It was an awesome experience and confirmed I found the right person to represent me.

Lucy and her team were awesome during this process. Lucy's advice before the first court date was even set was spot on. By doing what she said, she was able to get a plea deal that was pretty amazing. Her staff is always pleasant and patient, especially in the beginning when you don't know what to expect and your nervous.
I wouldn't go to anyone else if I had a choice. Thank you and your team for everything.

I am very thankful to Lucy and her team. I went through a very emotional break up with my ex-husband. I was lost and had no clue how to protect myself and my children. Lucy and her team did an awesome job explaining the divorce proceedings and all the in's and out's of the process. She understood my unique situation and went to bat for me. Her team was able to come to a settlement that enabled me and my children to get back on our feet and move on with our lives with no worries about child support or custody battles. Thank you Lucy and your team I owe you a great thanks.
