Took my retainer and didn’t show up to court the first hearing. Called during the hearing and her office had to get ahold of her at home. Second hearing she asks for the hearing to be rescheduled late and then says we need to show up at the last minute but she couldn’t be there so she was sending another attorney. She said she was busy with another trial. I paid her the same hourly rate as the other person and before I paid a retainer I made sure she was going to be working my case not another attorney. She assured me she would be the only attorney on it. Finally my case was dropped as it should have been. I ask her right after it’s dropped how much my refund would be since I never got a bill ever. She said there would definitely be a refund but she would work out how much. After hunting her down for 6 months she sends me a redicilous bill for $1000 more than my original retainer. She maybe worked a few hours on my case. I tell her those charges are wrong and she says ok find I’ll settle the original retainer. This was a tactic so she wouldn’t have to pay the refund that was due. She also had the nerve to call me a difficult client. I was only difficult when I wanted my money back. She’s dishonest and I would never use her again. As far as her legal ability I never got to see but 2/3 times she didn’t show or showed 2 hours late.
