Pro tip if these guys call you:
Don't be like my dad and try to just ignore them. It didn't work, it's not smart. If you want to get a way better deal don't wait until they go file a lawsuit in court, as soon as they call try to make them an offer to just settle right there. See, the credit card company hires them. So if these people file a lawsuit, they charge the credit card company more and so they have more time/money invested=worse deal. If you try to make a deal before the credit card company pays for a lawsuit=better deal and no lousy court date stuff.

If there was a zero star I will gave Cooling &Winter LLC just that because they are very unprofessional, never return phone call, exposed all your business to the public even if you don't want another person to know your business. My worst experience is with Cassandra Allen who pretend to be nice in the beginning so you can make half of what you owe and after that she don't answer calls or return calls. Also the documentation process is VERY SLOW...I HATE THIS COMPANY &I WOULDN'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM

I have tried to call this company almost every day of the week trying to get a hold of a representative, every time someone answers they don’t even listen to what I have to say, they just transfer the call and nobody answers. If I am almost done paying for a depth why do I have to repay you guys again? All you guys do is send threats that you guys are going to send me to court as if I am not paying you guys and I am, I have copies of the statements and you guys take it out of my bank account automatically every month. You guys want me to sign something that isn’t true and yet can’t get a hold back of the clients apparently I’m not the only one either .. I have even went out of my way to email you guys and it says “Email too full”.. This company is very irresponsible!!

I am trying to settle a debt but no wants to take the money I have at the time.I am trying to recover from hard times but I will get me an arbitrator and see can we settle this asap. I have a family to feed and they will rather take me to court and take food off the table of my family.

My experience is more of the same. Multiple phone calls and emails to them to try and settle a debt, and I can't get any response. They are more than willing to file civil lawsuit but can't return phone calls or answer emails?? If you are dealing with this company make detailed notes of everything, because you may end up in court with it.

Update: I emailed them again, after their response. I received a phone call and they stated they don't communicate by email???

Update2: Stop. Just Stop. Every response to every review on here, you are just coming off stupid. You are literally advising people to email, and have a dedicated email for settlements, and nearly everything else. THEN, you say it has to be done over the phone. NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE or RETURNS CALLS. You should have been shut down years ago.

Tried to make address change, a simple process and these guys can’t even handle that. I got transferred on the phone 5 times, either they will just say hold on and it transfer me to different person or just goes straight to voicemail that is full. Lmao

Update:
To your response, yes I did receive and email with a blank form and no instruction. Tried contacting the office to get to voicemail after voicemail (why leave a message if I can't get a return call?) I even emailed the person back and got no response. The only letter that I have received from your firm was the one stating you received my response to the summons and wanted to go over options. No other letter was received. I also just call this Carl person back whose voicemail is full and once again I was told that you blocked my number in your system and your firm cannot call me back. I went back and read the letter that he sent me and it states the wrong month.

Left one review and got a response a week later from some guy named Carl with no instruction just an unsigned form and to call the office if I needed help. Called the magistrate court in my county and they told me the law firm had to sign it before I brought it in front of a judge and that he had to be the original. Yay. Something else they did wrong. THEN I rudely got told by the person “handling” my case that 1. My account was in default because I didn’t pay in October (my agreement started in November) and 2. that he could no longer call me because at some point someone answered my phone and told him he had the wrong number so now it’s blocked from their system. Wow really?? Then I get another letter from them saying they received my response and want to go over options... I had already came to an agreement. I listed the agreed amount and the name and extension of the person “handling” my case. Can you guys get your stuff together please?

They never answer the phone and nobody can seem to help. Nobody has returned my calls yet after repeated attempts to reach someone. They sure can dig their hands into your account though right on time but can’t call anyone back in a timely manner. I’m going to fight them in court if these matters don’t get handled.

This is the worst company to deal with. I have emailed to settle a debt 5 days in a row and have heard NOTHING back from this company. They threatened legal action if I didn't respond and yet they won't answer when I do.

They garnished my exhusband for a past credit card debt. No notification by mail or phone, just issued a garnishment for his bank accounts. Unfortunately they didn't get either of his accounts (business or personal) they got mine! I discovered what was happening when I made a cash deposit and noticed a significant amount of money missing. Since my name wasn't on the garnishment, they couldn't give me any information. The lady at the bank was nice enough to give me the phone number to Cooling and Winter so I could inform my exhusband of the situation. He contacted their office and spoke to Terrence Green. He informed Mr Green of their mistake in freezing my bank account. He was instructed to pay the debt in full ($2100) and my account and its funds would be released. He paid it immediately, yet my account remained locked. Several phone calls to him asking for the release to be sent the court went unanswered. He finally responded that he had sent the order to the court and my bank, which turned out to be a lie. The court, not being notified of payment 23 days later, sent them a check from the funds taken from me. A week later, they finally received the notification of payment received in full (30 days AFTER it was paid in full) but did not receive the over payment back. Phone calls and emails have went unanswered again trying to find out where my money is and when it's going to be returned. They took $1522.74 from me for a debt that I had nothing to do with. Meanwhile, not only was I not even receiving my pay check every week due to having direct deposit, my credit has taken a hit because my mortgage and car payments were returned so now I'm a month behind on everything, again, over a debt I had nothing to do with nor even knew existed! No one will talk to me because my name wasn't on the case, yet they were some how able to take all of my money for it!

UPDATE: I have emailed them and got a response within an hour. They had a representative call me in another hour. I spoke to Mr. Daniels and he was able to help my father and I clear up any suspicions about a court case and verifying my father’s payments were going through successfully. Thank you for getting back to me. Have a great day.

A year ago I had an issue with this firm and now here we are again. I am trying to get in contact with Jawncy Foster, not sure if that’s how you spell it but that’s what her voicemail sounds like. I’ve called 4 times in a row today and twice yesterday, the third time today she immediately forwarded my call now on the fourth try all I get is straight to her voicemail. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, if you want your money I suggest you hire better employees to attend to your clients. We are completely willing to make arrangements for payments and your employee we are assigned to is not cooperating. I am considering reporting this to the BBB.

The absolute worst service I've ever experienced. I work in the Title industry, and I've been attempting to obtain a payoff on behalf of my client. It's been over a week and I still have yet to be able to speak with anyone regarding the account. This is after 3+ calls a day. All we're doing is trying to PAY YOU. And it's proving to be impossible.

Hire better employees.

This is the worst company ever! I have called multiple times on a garnishment that is fraud! They are garnishing my check for a credit card I have never had and was opened when I was in high school. I was a minor and to get a credit card you have to be at least 18 right?! Then I never got any notices because whoever got the card used a different address all I know is that my checks started getting garnished! I called and did the entire dispute and that was over a month ago! I am still getting garnished and I haven't heard a peep and cant even get a return call! I have never dealt with a company so belatedly unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. I am feed up and have now gotten my lawyer involved.

I’m only giving this Review a 5, only because of a very nice employee by the name of Cassandra Allen.
She was very helpful, pleasant ,and very professional. She really helped me with my case. She took the time to explain everything to me, and provided me with documents I needed. In the past when I would call this company, either they wouldn’t answer, or I would get someone on the phone with a very rude tone, and not pleasant at all...their costumer service was awful., but today, I took it upon myself to go to the office, and I was great full to get someone who actually showed me some professionalism, and great customer service. When calling this company, ask for Cassandra Allen, and not Terence Green. He obviously doesn’t know how to talk to people,, and he is a terrible communicator, or maybe he just hates his job.

This place has the worst customer service ever. You call for a week straight and no one picks up the phone, you leave a voicemail no one returns your call, then when you do get in touch with someone they have the worst attitude smh. I’m wondering is this place a legitimate business. Spoke with a rep and he tells me my account is in default, but I’m making my payments a few days before the payment dates . How is that possible? If anything I’m definitely on time with my payments, and I keep my conformation numbers , because something about this place just doesn’t seem right.

Update
Called to make a payment today and was told that they could not take my payment nor could they tell my why or what’s going on with my account. Gave me a email for me to send in my concerns smh. I’m just trying to get answers. MY ACCOUNT IS NOT UNDER THIS NAME SO SPARE ME WITH THE WE CANT FIND YOUR ACCOUNT.

Honestly this firm deserves 0 stars. Even when you pay off a debt they will harass you in paying more. Don’t even try to call them because they will not answer or return your calls. When making payments to them ensure you screenshot the confirmation receipt of every payment since you’ll need it later. Get a lawyer when dealing with them as well.

So you have time to respond to a Google post but not return phone calls. That speaks volumes and adds to the fact that my review was fairly done.

I can't give 5 starts because they are after all just out to get your money lol BUT I do appreciate that they actually were rather quick with our return of garnishment since we did a full payment on the deal they gave us but it was too late to stop garnishment of check. But we expected to wait longer and were afraid some b.s. Would happen n we wouldn't get it or would have to fight for it and we didn't. They called us once payment posted n let us know they'd mail a check n acct would be clear now and sure enough about a wk later we got the check. So I thank them for that!

Yeah I see why this place gets bad reviews. Called and tried to settle with no help also took several tries to get someone to even get back in contact with me. This place is a joke.

So I've paid over $2600 and now I owe $990 and wanted to settle with a payment of $510 but that's not enough? The counter offer was for $881. Ridiculous. You want me to call back just to get turned down again. No thanks. I also emailed two days prior with no response so that's why I had to call in. Also you guys shouldn't have a settlement email or make an offer tab.

These people are the devil but I’ll teach you how to fight back.

1. When they serve you with a summons PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE respond to it.
2. When you file your answer with the court write “lack of legal standing” OR file a motion to dismiss.
3. File a “Request for production” OR a motion to compel (a request for production through the court)—your choice
4. Request the contract, how the debt went from $0 to its current balance as well as a few other things.
If you need help beating them FOR FREE just let me know. You can do this. If more people fight back we can stop this lawsuit mill they run. Don’t admit to anything. Don’t give them anything. Don’t settle for anything. IF they haven’t served you with a summons and they’re just sending you letters PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE send a debt validation letter requesting the same items I mention above. You can also google it. Also file a complaint with the CFPB !

Update:it’s funny how you didn’t respond to everyone else YET you responded to my comment and let’s be clear LAWS ARE PUBLIC INFORMATION AND CITIZENS HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW THEIR RIGHTS AND BE INFORMED. You DO NOT have to be a lawyer to know the LAW. It’s called “pro se”. What makes you think this constitutes as “legal” advice?! Scared much? Also I couldn’t find y’all name with any bar either. So I guess neither of us are lawyers and All you file with the court is fake affidavits NOTHING more so YES if people fight back taking the steps I mentioned above you guys will be STOPPED ! And I’m going to help them do it. Hit you where it hurts ! Your pockets !!

Hmm... There's no need to wonder why everybody gives a 1 star review, and it's not because they fell behind on some bills. It's because this gang is so ruthless and vindictive. They actually go out of their way to do as much damage as they can, even after a debt is agreeably settled. Beyond that, I think they would actually spend $10,000 to chase a $1000 debt. They will stop at nothing to get the blood from your turnip. These are the guys that give the credit industry a bad name, and apparently they are so unscrupulous there are other attorneys that make a living suing by them.
I would say to avoid these people if possible, but I suspect you are not here by choice. Good luck to you.

I had a garnishment paid off now for almost a month. Each time I call which is once a week, either no one answers or I am on hold for a time and it just comes up and says "Sorry all of our reps are busy, call back later." This morning I spoke with someone and it wasn't even the right person to talk to! He then transfers me to the "garnishment department" and it goes straight to someones voicemail. So naturally I call back someone instantly answers, says nothing and then hangs up. My question is why is it so hard to speak to someone? I just want documentation stating my debt was paid and is satisfied so i can move on from this? You got your money no give me what I want! You can take the time and effort to go to court to force me to pay for the debt but you can budge a finger to actually help me. It unprofessional. From all the reviews I have read today I don't feel very surprised anymore.

I am a single Father. I was served and contacted the office to arrange a payment plan last year. Clarence Blackshear (ext 3374) informed me that I would receive paperwork within 7-10 business days that would need my signature and would make official, our agreement for me to pay $45/month, until my balance was paid off. I was informed that once I received the paperwork, the courts will be notified, for no need of court. He literally told me not to go to court. I never received the paperwork! Later on last year, my account got handed over to, Terrance Greene (ext 3295). He didn't want to address my original inquiry/complaint about being ill-advised by, Mr. Blackshear and about why I never got a letter in the mail that was supposed to keep me from having to go to court. Instead, he wanted to threaten me about a pending garnishment, if I didn't make a payment. I inquired about a settlement offer and was offered an unreasonable amount on November of 2018. I haven't heard anything from them, since then. And on June 6th of 2019 my wages were garnished without proper notice! I took them to court to fight it, but you all know how it goes in this broken system. I lost, but was told to call the law firm's office to make a payment arrangement to stop the garnishment and the cowardly lawyer was standing right next to me looking down, like a clown! I called their office almost 30 times last week and left a message and sent an email with a settlement offer of my own. Terrance Greene only wants to settle for 90% of my total balance! Two weeks prior, he offered to settle for 85% of the total balance! These people are bootleg as Hell and have shady business practices. They've been sued before and had previously been operating under a different name. I hope they get what's coming to them in the form of another lawsuit! Send them back to the slums they came from! I plan to file a formal complaint to the courts, until I get justice.

What am I to do when I have followed all procedures but have not received the appropriate paperwork from you all?

I set up thru the court system a monthly payment with these people. I have been paying monthly each month and yesterday they started garnishing my wages. Which makes no sense to me. I try calling there office but of course extremely long hold times and then I finally got a woman on the phone and she said one moment and sent me straight to a voicemail. And of course no call back after leaving my information. I logged onto the online portal and your only two options are to make a payment or email a settlement? No help whatsoever.

This firm garnished my wages for $1565 last year from a debt of Capital One. I payed off the debt @50% through Midland years ago. March of 2018 I received a dismissed letter and a check from Fulton County with a refund of my money that was garnished.. January of 2019 they garnished me again for the same debt that was refunded .. Today I just received a letter that they want $1500 from another judgment from Capital One... Was garnished without warning last year. Later that same year, was garnished for another account. Currently have an account with them that I set up a payment plan for, and I’ve been trying to reach them to let them know that I haven’t made payments due to the second garnishment in a year. Can’t ever get anyone

Same thing as other complaints. Many calls and trying to work with them, and they agreed and said would send paperwork for payment arrangements, but Sheriff came instead. If they do not wish to work with payments, then don't agree to do so and then not send the paperwork. Contacted them a month ago to work out payment arrangement. After a couple of weeks of no paperwork, tried again, but hung up on. Another call-no response.

I did contact the office for a 2nd time on April 26 and was told that a Judgement Service was filed by Cooling and Winter "by accident/human error" The office did not send me the paperwork. My 2nd conversation I was told that this time it will be sent and how to get it back to you in order to cancel Hearing. I hope that the 2nd time works.....

I called this company back on January 4th after finding the information on my credit report to set up payment options. I agreed tho make payments on the 17th of each month. So when January 17th came around I call to make the payment, I got the lady voicemail asking her to give me a call back because I was trying to make my monthly payment. I received no returned phone call back but now I received papers from the court. When I called them again last week I was told by Karen that I should received a consent agreement in my email for me to print off and sign to mail back to them so they can file with the courts. As of today, 3/25 I have received no email and when I called this morning I was told the letter was sent via email but how and I never received it and I also checked my spam mail. I was bullied into a settlement with the predecessor of Cooling and Winter, Frederick Hanna, for a credit card debt for a card that was never in my possession and I had no knowledge of.

I happened across a lawsuit against me that was almost 3 years old when I googled my name. I contacted DeKalb county about it and filed an answer. I initially refused to pay but accepted it could have been someone who lived with me at the time. I made a few payments before the company folded and the website system to accept payments was no longer working. Phone calls never went anywhere and I assumed this was the end of this company based on what I read.

Less than a year later, without notification by the payroll company or Cooling and Winter, my paycheck was garnished for the original amount. I was not credited for the payments made. The process had started in October, and mid January my paycheck was garnished. The only notice I had received was a soggy certified notice with "Winter" scribbled and my last name just a few days prior there was no indication it was a law firm. It was a copy of the default judgement they had won due to their intentional failure to notify me. Calls to recover the over-payment was of course ignored.

Awful customer service. Any time I call them I'm transferred to about 3 different people who can't seem to help me or I get sent to voicemail. Last Friday I called to find out what was going on with the automatic payments, the lady I spoke to told me she'd check and see one of them made it through. Didn't hear back from her that day. Today I've tried calling her on her extension multiple times, no answer. I've even left a voice message at about 8 this morning, now 13:26 and still haven't heard from her. Tried reaching through to just an operator and I got told I was the 3rd called, then 2nd, finally 1st and then got sent to voicemail. And just now as I'm speaking I've been on waiting on the phone with them for about 10 minutes, the guy I was speaking to comes back on and says hello so I responded then he hangs up. Before he put me on hold he only asked for the social security number and then left me waiting, I get this every time they transfer me to him.

I recently paid off a debt and can not get a settlement letter emailed or mailed out to me from this officeit is ridiculous!

Edited: Thank you Ms. M.
She helped me to get my letter and was about her business while helping me. I appreciate your professionalism.

Horrible customer service. I have paid off a debt through them and they will not close out my account which is effecting my credit! They will not listen to what you have to say and will not call you back! Steer clear of this attorney!

Debt Collector that will even try to get your money after account has settled. Will never give you a straight answer or respond to written requests.

Consumers please be aware of this company. They were named in a Federal lawsuit for unfair debt collections and they did us a great injustice by allowing them to continue to be in business.

They do not return phone calls. I owe money and am trying to get a settlement letter and I have spoken to two different people, one of them supposedly management. A person would think that if someone owing money called, then they would be quick to answer.
