I called for a consultation with attorney Edwards at this firm. The paralegal who answered the call, Ms. Welcome - made me feel nothing but welcome throughout our interactions, to the point of me writing this review. I scheduled a consultation 3 weeks in advance, confirmed it the day before, then an hour before the scheduled time as I was about to leave my house, I got a call from Ms. Welcome stating that attorney Edwards would not be able to make our meeting as she was delayed in court. Now, being a physician myself, I completely understand that sometimes delays in the system work against any busy professional and cancellations do happen. So that is not the issue. What I found very upsetting is the attitude of Ms. Welcome on the phone, being completely unapologetic about the fact that my schedule had been completely thrown off, and stating that the issue I wanted to discuss with attorney Edwards was "so basic that an associate could handle it" (in her words). So she offered to schedule a phone call with an associate for the same 200 dollar consultation fee as I would have paid for a 1 hour face to face consultation with the attorney. This is completely inappropriate. At no time did she seem concerned to accommodate me in any way (and I had to make multiple schedule changes in my practice in order to make this appointment, which I tried to explain to her). As a matter of fact she was terse and rude on the phone. I asked that the attorney be made aware of this, and perhaps give me a call to discuss in person - and I was told that this was NOT going to happen. I am in disbelief of the face/voice of this firm being a person who lacks basic politeness and courtesy. Terrible customer service. Not what any paying customer should ever have to deal with. I am still super disappointed that after all this waste of my time, I never even got a chance to discuss my simple issue with a professional (would have likely been a 5 minute phone call and they would have earned a new client).

I have had some horrible experiences with attorney's in the past, so I can say with confidence that The Edwards Law Group is a well-oiled machine! Joy Edwards and her paralegals, Anphonetta, and Carrie, all worked on my recent case. This is now the second case they have done for me and each time has been flawless. During both cases, there was NEVER one time that I had to call and beg for an update on my case or hassle them about progressing my case forward like I have experienced with other attorney's in the past. Every month, the Edwards Law group team sent a very detailed email with court documents attached that showed their efforts to progress my case forward as quickly as possible. They stayed in constant contact with me to get updates about my situation and when clarity was needed as to the information I wanted to include in my custody modification documents. I SINCERELY APPRECIATE the combined efforts of Joy, Anphonetta, and Carrie for getting this second case done in an equally efficient and timely manner as the first case they handled for me. For these reasons, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Edwards Law group for family legal issues.

Based on my personal experience, I do not recommend Joy or her firm for divorce and custody.
At the consultation, we discussed and agreed upon a fee, which I paid that night. She then moved forward with my case. After our initial meeting, I felt confident that I would be getting adequate representation.
Throughout the process, I felt pressured by Joy to make a deal. I wish I had been more educated, but I trusted that Joy would advocate for my children and myself. In my opinion, that was not the outcome. I perceived Attorney Edwards as condescending, terse, and apathetic. The overall experience was unsettling.

We recently used The Edwards Law Group to write our will, financial powers of attorney, and advanced directives. This was the first time we were creating such documents. I was disappointed by the hands-off process this group employs. We were sent a questionnaire via email and from this information, our documents were created. We were asked to review the docs and then to come in to sign them. We were given very little support or guidance about the process in general or the implication of different options. At signing, Ms. Edwards was not interested in answering our questions in an open and helpful way, but rather was condescending and curt. The overall experience was unsettling. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this group for first-time creation of these routine documents.

I had to have my last will, power of attorney and advanced directive done. The Edwards Law Group services were great. They were very helpful from the very beginning, guiding me through the process and making the necessary suggestions and recommendations. I just signed the documents at their office today, which was much more convenient than running around town looking for a notary (bank won't do it for these documents). Very happy with the service and highly recommend!
