I consulted with Kathleen for a case. I feel her office and her office staff were very nice. Everyone seemed to be smiling and such when I walked in the door! Everyone seemed very professional and courteous. I feel Kathleen was concerned about my issues and that I wasn’t just another retainer. I think she did a wonderful job in helping me get what I wanted. She’s a wonderful attorney and would recommend her services to anyone.

If you are looking for legal help, I would advise that you look somewhere else. You honestly would get more help, and better legal advice by going on Yahoo questions. After you have paid the retainer, their customer service goes downhill very quickly. Even worse than that they didn't even attempt to make good on any of the promises they made in the beginning , prior to me retaining them for counsel. They did absolutely NO legal work, whatsoever on my case. Which even if they wanted to do so, would have been nearly impossible, considering the fact that neither of the attorney's spoke with me at all, not even once. So they knew absolutely none of the pertinent facts in regards to my case. They didn't even know any non-relevant facts or matter of factly anything at all regarding my case. It was obvious that they were unprepared, and in no condition to even fathom proceeding further in a legally responsible manner, so every time they advised me that we should ask the Judge for a continuance, to give us (The Law Offices of Kathleen G. Alvarado) time to get their act together, which unfortunately never happened. I didn't really have much of a choice, considering there was no way I could move forward with there lack of preparedness, which is being very generous considering they didn't do a single thing to even try to prepare. After going along with their advice to delay things the first 3 times, the 4th time they tried to get me to go along with another delay, I refused and told them to just go ahead and set the case for trial. They of course advised against that, considering to this point they have still not went over discovery, or even discussed my case with me. I was tired of stalling with no strategy whatsoever, so I decided to move things forward, so I gave them clear orders to set a date for trial, as I was planning on dropping them as counsel for obvious reasons. They couldn't (didn't want to) even come through on this simple task, and rather than getting a trial date set as they were explicitly instructed to do, instead did the very thing that I did not want them to do and asked the Judge for another continuance. Now the worst part of this whole fiasco, is that for this level of incompetence, in which you can see they did nothing at all to help me or improve my legal situation, only to find out that they were going to try to defraud me out of the remaining balance from my $3,000 retainer, after I let them know that I was going to be relieving them as counsel. I have asked for an itemized expense sheet, which they said they would provide me. 10 days later and still the only thing I have is frustration. Do your due dilligence, and save yourself the money as well as heartache, like I should've done.

Bad is bad

Run and do not look back! This law firm is anything but a law firm. They make empty promises and take your money to give nothing in return. I had a custody case that needed to be amended and this office definitely did not deliver. I had to do ALL of the foot work myself and then get billed for it. I found out about court dates via the opposing counsel and my ex. If you have ANY questions at all whatsoever after they take your retainer they charge you for every single little communication. If you email or call automatically $50 to ask a simple question. Kathleen who is supposed to be your attorney out sources her services and you never even get to meet her in person or in court. Upon my court date I was met by another attorney from a completely different law firm and on top of that my demands for my custody case were so illiterate when written to the courts and given to the opposing counsel, I personally had to do grammatical edits and spell check. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not use this law firm! If you call them, it takes them days to return a call and then when they call you back they charge you and they want their money very fast and if you don’t pay after your retainer runs out (which will happen very quickly because they charge so much for so little) they will keep calling and calling and calling for payment. Take it from me and look else where.

I hired this law firm to assist me with a bogus DUI stop in Riverside, CA. Being the first time that I had a run in with the law, I was a nervous reck. After talking to the attorney she not only answered all my questions but gave me a full run down of what was expected. While the whole process took about 6 months to get resolved, I was extremely pleased with the outcome. I really appreciated her honesty and her continued efforts with dealing with the DA.

This lawyer charged me $5,000 and has done nothing for me...very disappointed.

Saw us at the last moment of the day when another attorney cancelled on us. What a blessing for us because Kathleen was awesome, up front, and told us exactly what needed to be done. I felt really really confident and comfortable with her.

The promises this office makes are NEVER honored. Phone calls are not returned once you have spent the money for your retainer fees. What ever happened to honest business practices?

Took my money but in the end did nothing to actually help me. Just rolled over and took whatever "deal" they offered. Was constantly late to court and twice never showed and sent one of her underlings instead who asked for a continuance because the lawyer couldnt be there because she was with another client. Didn't fight for me once and never felt she was in my corner.

Very horrible lady very greedy she took 6,000 pluse from my mother and did nothing on helping on her divorce is any body can help recover my mother's money back .... It would be nice

Very bad lawyer's I just had a very bad experience with them, they charge whatever they want, not what we agree, the front desk personal very bad attitude, they never call you back , socks very desaponted never hire there again, also they change they personal office every week very bad.
