This is a terrible law firm. Deserves no stars. The good lawyers don't stay because the firm is not about quality work, only about fleecing clients.

I enjoyed reading the positive reviews from people benefitting from unethical behavior. When you file a collections action in court WHILE refusing to respond to registered mail disputing the charges as is required by FCRA and mail notice the day after the court date (postmarked) you are unethical, immoral, and also violating the law. When my HOA management company removed the illegally assessed fines L&J refused to remove their charges assessed because they had ‘accepted’ the file. Almost double the fines the HOA illegally assessed. HOAs love these guys because they have no morality or ethics. And no, I didn’t owe money. And yes the HOA removed the illegal assessments. And still L&J is fighting to collect money the HOA will never see. They are a oulless. If L&J contacts you go straight to an attorney. Do not pass go and do not allow them to collect $200. I think there’s one attorney, they stamp signatures and you can only speak to people in a phone bank. And even when you are right these folks cannot do anything other than badger you, ignore your calls, and treat you as if you are a criminal for a civil matter.

I've had the personal pleasure of meeting Jay Lazega - he and his Team are absolutely exceptional to work with! The L&J Team provides continuous innovation, improvement, and educational opportunities for the communities they have the pleasure of serving. Likewise, they provide ongoing continuing educational courses for managers in Georgia/Atlanta market. A sincere "Thank you" Lazega & Johanson team for all that you do.

As an HoA president who has hired L&J for a number of matters including collections over the past 2 years I can say without a doubt it has been a good experience. Look at the other reviews, most are written by people who owed money. You expect them to be happy? L&J collections knows their stuff and they get results. Bradley Griffin over there is totally above board. He advises when to litigate and issue or when to settle and/or work out a payment plan. Many times he has talked my Board down from the fence when we were being too aggressive. He sees things fairly and objectively. But the results don't lie. 2 years ago when he was brought on, we're were owed about $100,000 in past due assessments. Today that number is down to below $30,000 and 90% of the remaining owed is either in a payment plan or held up in bankruptcy court.

On other matters, we have successfully gone after past builders who tried to shaft the association out of funds owed under POAA law, navigated poorly written CC&Rs, and fought the Jehovah Witnesses from knocking door to door. While they are not cheap, they get the job done! We have won every case or negotiation and my community is better for it!

Joanna Eljazzar did not represent me personally, but she did represent my hoa, to which I'm a member and pay dues. I found the way in which she interacted with me over emails and phone calls to be unprofessional. I tried to come to a settlement with her, but she was very difficult to work with. I don't feel like she operated in my hoa's best interest. I also felt when we showed up to court she was unprepared. The judge asked several questions which neither her or our hoa president could answer. Furthermore, the judge called into question her fees as they comprised of the bulk of the disagreement. I feel like a hoa attorney should be better at resolving complaints and issues with their constituents, and at the very least show up to court fully prepared to answer all questions. She also would wait several days without responding to emails when trying to arrange for settlement. For these reasons I've given my honest interactions with this firm a one star rating.

Lies. Lies. Lies. They come to our HOA meeting charging an arm and a leg. And don't tell the truth. They sent a letter to the wrong unit owner about another unit owner. Sloppy and shoddy business. Another community rolled its eyes and said no way, based on its reputation, if they were considering this firm for its attorney. Stay away!

I have to say I had a pleasant experience dealing with this law firm surprisingly enough. Engeer and Bradley are both full of integrity. Nice to see honest people still exist.

The attorney that I dealt with in-person was a goddess, but I truly dislike their firm in general.

Used to work at this firm a few years back. It personally didn't work out for me for my own reasons, but I always thought this firm A+ in how they operated. Great partners great people.

This is the most corrupt law firm you could ever find. Proceed at your own risk.

Absolutely disgusting people. We paid our HOA account in full to them when the house was sold and now 5 months later they have garnished our entire bank account with no notice whatsoever for an “outstanding balance”, which doesn’t even exist since we have proof that everything was paid in full. We have actually paid MORE than the original balance that was owed and these sick people just keep wanting more and more. We will never get back our overpaid balance either, we can just forget about that. Forget it, you will never get out of this black hole with this company. We will be taking legal action on these crooked people and hopefully shutting them down for good.

Sold my debt (in their words “transferred”) to third party company. Did not contact me to notify me of change. When contacted to find out why I was not able to pay my bill online, William Shumaker was extremely rude, unprofessional and disrespectful upon me inquiring about the companies failure to communicate details of my account being transferred. He insisted on informing me that it was the new companies responsibility to contact me in reference to the change. Upon calling back to speak with Mark Moore, the receptionist Matty was just as hostile and rude as William and even refused to give me the address of the company. I’ve dealt with this company for over a year and it’s been the a constant aggressive disrespectful culture across their company with zero ethics. These people must be stopped!

If you are trying to communicate with this firm to resolve any issue. Just forget about it. See them in court will be your best option. The biggest mistake I have ever made is sit down with them and believed they will work out with us.

Our HOA conducted business with this group and their fees are astronomical. Besides being ridiculously expensive, they are also not above sending threatening letters to community individuals with absolutely no basis. If you're looking for Saul Goodman kind of firm they might be it.
