I was told my debt was settled for a great price, but then a few days later it was $3,500 more than they told me. I was told it was still a great settlement and that I needed to act fast, so I agreed. I was desperate to just reach a settlement because this law firm was not able to lower my garnishment and so much from my checks were being taken. I didn't hear any news or what the next step was for weeks. Then in my email I get a secure message around 3 pm stating that I needed to sign papers and send them to the opposing counsel along with the cashiers check of the settlement amount. It was due the next day. Luckily I was able to get out of work, go to the bank, and overnight mail all of that. I was angry that I didn't get a call or heads up about anything and expected to have everything prepared last minute when I had weeks just waiting.

Unfortunately, after all of this my wages were still being garnished for over a month and when I asked them about this I was told that the opposing counsel sent the judgment order without the proper address and it got delayed. I sent my own letter because I couldn't trust this firm to take care of anything.

On top of that even after I paid in full for their service, they still auto debited my bank account and haven't given me a refund 2 weeks later. I also incurred an overdraft fee because I thought they knew to stop taking my money when I paid in full! I called twice asking where my refund is and was told I would get it back last Friday. Now they are saying I would get it next week. Also, it's their fault, but they will not cover my overdraft fee.

I have yet to see my garnished wages that was taken after the settlement that is supposed to be returned and will have to fight to get it back. I don't see why I paid them. You won't get the support and follow up with them. There is no communication and they will make promises, but will not follow through. I will let you know if I ever get back the garnishments that are supposed to be returned to me. This is my livelihood and they don't really care or take it seriously.

CAREFULLY RE- THINK YOUR DECISION ON HIRING THESE GUYS: I set up a account last June 2018 and paid $1200 and NOTHING was ever done by these guys. All they were doing was collecting my retainer money of $400 per month. Communication is absolutely terrible. I printed all the conversations between myself and Fitzgerald and Campbell for proof of lack of communication. After 3 months Of poor communication and losing over $14K on a case that they were suppose to represent me on. I fired Campbell and Fitzgerald and currently contemplating small claims.They never settled my case and i’m Still dealing with the creditor who filed the illegal levy against me and its been a year.

We arrived 20 minutes late for our first meeting, but they were very nice about it. We met with Mr. Fitzgerald who was friendly and easy to talk to. He had already reviewed our situation, and he gave us the wonderful news that matters had resolved themselves, and we wouldn't need his services. He was positive, knowledgeable, and inspired our confidence. We weren't charged anything for the consultation.

I can't recommend these guys enough. My wife and I like a lot of Americans were hit hard by the 2008 financial crisis. We didn't file a BK but had several issues paying creditors back but we found a way to get through it. We always had perfect credit so not being able to pay our bills was very depressing. In 2008 we voluntarily returned a car to Ford knowing we would not be able to pay for it any longer. Even though we had a balance of $30k the GM of the dealership told us Ford wasn't going after people that voluntarily turned cars in because so many Americans were in this situation. Of course we didn't get that I'm writing nor would he have done so had we asked. After 9 years of paying old bills and cleaning up our credit we finally got past all of it or so we thought. Last year out of nowhere we got a notice from the law firm Nelson & Kennard saying Ford Motor Co had a judgement against my wife as well as a garnishment levy allowing them to take all checks owed to her. (She's a Realtor and this allowed them to literally take all her commission checks) We never received a notice to appear in court, were never served papers and had no idea about this judgement for $30k. After 9 years this came out of nowhere. We're not rich people so when my wife sells a home it's money we need to support our family. Nelson & Kennard were absolute bullies and they were dirty. They never served us so we never had an opportunity to go before a judge to plead our case. Any judge when looking at our disposable income or lack thereof would have allowed us to at least work out a reasonable payment plan or settlement if he hadn't thrown it out altogether being that it was 9 years old and we really had no way of paying it. Apparently this is a common practice used by law firms like Nelson & Kennard that are really just collection agencies that are only lawyers so that they can file judgements against people and use the law to destroy people's finances and sometimes their lives. We did what most people do and tried to work out a payment plan with N & K ourselves (Big Mistake!). We need to act fast and didn't think we could afford a lawyer so we didn't contact one. After N & K took 3 of my wife's commission checks (100% of them!) and harassed us at work, via threatening phone calls and letters we were stuck. Had it not been for a family member helping us God only knows what the outcome would have been. I had done a ton of research online trying to figure out a way out of this and kept coming across the name Fitzgerald & Campbell. Since the judgement was almost 8 years old we had no legal recourse to try and get a stay & the judgement thrown out we had to do something. I called F & C and from that moment everything changed. The threatening letters and phone calls stopped immediately! My contacts at F&C we're Greg & my Case Manager Dyana. Although I had a contact with other lawyers and para legal in the firm that we're all great to deal with and very helpful. F&C was able to work out a settlement with N&K that saved us $13k from the original judgement!!! They worked on a small retainer (couple hundred bucks) and $30 per month. We would pay nothing if they couldn't save us anything. We would only pay a small percentage on what they saved us. Suffice to say they were motivated to get us the best settlement possible. They were accessible all the time via phone or email and communicated everything with us. If I sent Dyana or Greg a message they got right back to me. It was one of the best experiences I've had with any company. They put our minds at ease and discussed every option with us. When I had 20 questions they had the answers and even discussed options that wouldn't have benefited them with us. When dealing with scumbags like Nelson & Kennard (especially Yesnia- she was a real slime ball) DON'T DO IT ALONE!!! Call Fitzgerald & Campbell!!! Don't waste 1 minuet trying to do it on your own and NEVER sign anything from the scumbag law firm of Nelson & Kennard. Call Fitzgerald & Campbell before ever trying to do this on your own!!

Not very good lawyers Campbell seemed upset that he didn’t charge me more money.... living up to the lawyer reputation.... I don’t recommend them

i initially hired this firm to represent me thinking they'd fight for me and have at least some empathy with my situation to care about what was going on, but in hindsight it was a mistake. they folded and capitulated at every request of the creditor, stating "nothing else" could be done once the creditor started the process of levying accounts or wage garnishing. i ended up paying more than my full balance essentially after fees from this firm. communication is poor, as you're dealing with different "case managers" and "attorneys". my "legal advice" is to look elsewhere.

These guys are awesome! Had a creditor that wasn’t wanting to settle and using abusive tactics. Got a hold of these guys. The creditor, after receiving the Power of Attorney document still tried to contact us directly. Went to sue the creditor and within 2 weeks, the creditor settled and wiped our debt clean and took the derogatory off of our credit report. These guys kept me in the loop and was there every step of the way. They nailed these guys. They’re highly affordable and I highly recommend! Thank you guys again!

At first, they lure you in saying they will "take care of everything" and that "you probably won't even have to go to court". Then, they send you very important emails on a portal that they expect filled out and done same day without the courtesy of a call to tell you of the import of the documents. I don't know about anyone else but I don't sit all day and stare at my email.
So far, I'm very disappointed in the service and wish I had just sent this money to the plaintiff instead of giving it to these people who seemingly are not available when I need them. I think maybe they just have too many clients. The worst part is I'm paying them with unemployment money. :( ....

i was looking for an attorney to debt settlement. and i spoke to Brenda, April, Brittany and the negotiator . past 6 month. they never do anything.
specially negotiator was the worst. she doesn't know how to negotiate. and took me few weeks to get her response.

These gentlemen were professional, kind and efficient in their dealings with the courts as well as the other party. I sought out their services, when I felt I was being taken advantage of via a garnishment. When the creditor failed to notify the court that the judgement was satisfied, instead she continued to accept the money being garnished. My many attempts to contact the creditor were unsuccessful. I met Mr. Campbell in his office on a Thursday, were I explained my situation. Four business days later, Mr. Fitzgerald phoned me to say he had been in contact with the creditor, whereas the creditor would immediately file the satisfaction of judgement. And she did. The garnishment stopped, the creditor was forced to return the over payment of monies to me and the court recorded my case as PAID IN FULL!

Mr. Fitzgerald has taken care of me one more time. I wasn't thrilled with the way one of my settlements was heading and thought I was being overcharged for the settlement. In anger I rushed to judgment without giving Mr. Fitzgerald the opportunity to make things right! Initially this review was bad, but I have been forced to change my opinion due to the professionalism and understanding of this firm.

I made a request of Mr. Fitzgerald to reach a compromise and he accepted. That is the type of law firm most clients should kill to work with. Horrible, tried to get an consultation and Adam decided that I could not get a consultation because I preferred using email. They called me twice everyday at the time I am working and expect me to pick up personal calls at work then when I tried calling back at least 3 times no one was available to pick up my calls. Then I asked if it was ok to start s consultation via email then they told me that I have they can't provide me a service!! What a waste of everyone's time!!!!
