Putting words to what exactly give you peace of mind is difficult. Even more so when you have your entire world (my children) and reputation are riding on the line. It is imperative to have nothing short of the very best to represent you. In family law lawyers who are: fair, understanding, caring and compassionate are very important but are far and few between. I was fed a lot of self appointed compliments and limited information from about 10 law firms all claiming to be the "absolute best" but they all lacked the understanding of how important this really was to me. So to finally come to Core Law Group, I will say there is nothing like the collaborative effort my law firm has put into my well being and insuring the most important portions of my cases are underlined AND outlined. I’m an attorney in Colorado and my client had originally hired another firm and they were terrible, then we were referred to Marissa Oxman at Core by another attorney. When my client called, Simon helped and indicated he would be better to help since he’s been doing these type of cases for 8 years. Simon had another court date so he assigned Marissa Oxman (a true star) and I highly recommend her to anyone! I’m big on legal writing and the law and Marissa wrote a 20-page declaration that just killed the game! I had been so worried about my client and the quality of representation she was receiving in California. Sullivan & Associates was a real let-down. Simon was much, much better but I was still concerned because he couldn’t be at the hearing.

But, once Marissa came on the case and I read Marissa’s declaration citing all the laws on the books of California and saw the time she actually put into fighting for my client, I was finally relieved! Marissa is a quality attorney!!! She understands the importance of making arguments based in the law. She was the only one to actually file the right forms and take the time to read the probate code and guardianship book. She’s amazing!!!!!!!! I highly, highly recommend Marissa Oxman!! Also, I think it’s important to note that Marissa has a criminal law background and, in my experience, criminal lawyers are just better at family law. Overall, Marissa Oxman is a true fighter. He was the first attorney I called and there was no need for me to call another one. He responded not even 24 hours after I called his office and told one of the assistants my issue . Mr. Budhwani was extremely helpful and polite. He was very upfront with his costs which was awesome. No hidden fees that you didn't know about. I plan to retain Mr. Budhwani to represent me!

I contacted Core for the free consultation. My previous attorney had flat out lied to me about what he had done. Simon pointed it out and what Core could do better. The next court hearing was in less than two weeks and it went ok. Didn't get everything but Core talked a good game. Unfortunately it is all talk. Personality wise, they are for the most part friendly people, but at the end of the day you are a paycheck. Like Simon said, many attorneys go into Family Law for the money – Core is no different.
One of their marketing tactics is assuring you anyone can help you. Each family law attorney is included in all emails. If you have a concern about your case you call them and rest assured someone will help you. Not true. I got an email, which they billed me for, stating that is only for emergency situations. Well when I needed their input it was an emergency situation and they weren't there. Twice. I was told I could only talk to Brittney, but she was too busy. I could call back next week or send her an email.
Appointment times are not important to Core. It doesn't matter to them that you are paying them to call you. They will forget to call which requires you to call them. Then you are placed on hold for 15 minutes without apology, just don't complain about it. In fact, you can't comment on anything you do not like. They will write up an email – which they bill you for – explaining that they don't want to hear about it.
Patti the paralegal was horrible. The worst customer service and generally all around rude personality. And Core allowed it. Even defended her in an email (that I was billed for). Where is Patti now? She was let go for treating the clients poorly. Apparently I was not the only one who didn't appreciate being told I had to rearrange my schedule to talk to my attorney.
Their customer service needs improvement and they should practice what they preach.
