I hired Alex Jr. as the third attorney in my divorce proceedings at the end of 2017. I was not happy with my prior representations for many reasons. I was not getting any results, the proceedings were dragging in time, and consequently the costs were escalating to the roof.
I went to him with a previously scheduled Mandatory Settlement Conference with the strong requirement that he be my last attorney in the case. I wanted to resolve everything swiftly and at the lowest possible cost.
He completely exceeded my expectations. He handled the dispute with utmost skill and professionalism. His level of communication was also very involved. He would always inform me of the alternatives and he would never dismiss my concerns.

Alex Macksound Jr. handled what was to be a very simple post judgement issue that turned into a nightmare of a case with very complex issues with sophistication, honesty and sympathy. Alex helped me fight for my rights, push when I needed to push, let go when it didn't matter (i.e. save legal fees), and truly became my armor in one of the craziest ordeals most family law attorneys have seen in their career. Not to our own doings, we ended up in 2 different courts (Torrance and Downtown LA) and dealt with an appeal (not once but twice). I couldn't have gotten through what I did without Alex. I never had to question his bills, he was always a rational fighter, he knew case law, was always on top of my case, and never once did I feel taken advantage of like so many of us do in these nasty, never ending divorce situations. This was not a cheap case but my fees were 20% of what my ex has spent (and still spending). I was able to persevere and win on everything that was most important to me. With the help of Alex, I was able to let go of the things that were less important to me and I didn't push on them because racking up a massive legal bill was not something I wanted to do! Not many attorneys will do that. They see the dollars and help fuel your fire and miss-lead you. If you're looking for an attorney that cares and wants to help you settle, this is your guy. If you're looking for nasty litigation, you have an open check book and you want to have your life filled with court and motions, this is not the firm for you.

I used Alexander Macksoud for a custody and child support modification case and was extremely pleased with the outcome. Mr. Macksoud and the entire staff were very helpful and professional. I recommend them and would use them again.

Alex MacKsoud is the worst divorce attorney imaginable! I got a terrible settlement and his fees were more than 3 times more than he originally estimated my cost would be. He can't remember the important facts and bills for everything at a $40 minimum charge, even leaving voice mails. He advised me poorly, is weak, and gives in on everything. This was a very expensive mistake. Don't hire him do handle your divorce!

This is one of the best attorneys out there. I highly recommend.
