I would absolutely love to give Burgess Title 5 stars but because of our experience l cannot give them a star.. We hired Burgess Title to handle our closing on a house we purchased on Sept. 7, 2018. Title insurance was also purchased at that time. After renovating the house we put the house under contract to sell with the closing to be on June 28, 2019. Days before the closing we found out that we did NOT have a clear title. Because of the negligence of Burgess Title we lost the sell of the house. On Oct 22, 2019 they sent us a title (a year and a month later) but by then as mentioned before, we had already lost the sell of the house.Technically because of Burgess Title, we renovated a house that never belonged to us. We have reached out to them several times but still no resolution. We were offered $984 but we lost $164,900!

How does this company have high reviews? These people seem to fail to do what a title company is required or paid to do... I used them once for a rental, it was chosen by my realtor. 1. During signing I found discrepancies which I had to ask for them to fix. It was so blatantly obvious it made me wonder about the rest of the document.... but this is not my field expertise so I reviewed what I could. 2. Several months into me owning the property I find out that the property taxes were not paid by the former seller so I had to take care of that, which should have been something that was added during closing based on the length of time of ownership. 3. I recently tried to finance my property and finding that the previous owners lean is still recorded as being there on the property. AGAIN! Something that should have been done during closing.
Moving forward I will be sure to communicate to any of the realtors that I work with that i absolutely refuse to close through these people.

Very dissatisfied with my experience with this firm. The agent who handled my closing did not do a very efficient job. She missed incorrect details in the paperwork that I had to inform her of, she provided inconsistent information, and was very rude when I addressed my concerns with her. Due to the way my closing was handled, I now have a delinquency on my credit file. When I asked to speak with the owner, my call was never returned. Hopefully the next client will be better informed of the process and can prevent their credit from being ruined.

Had a really bad experience here!! Things were wrong on the closing statement, I had to actually point them out as they over looked it. They now owe me money back. They also charged me for printing. Wouldn't be using them for when I sell. Very unhappy with the service here. Going to see what I can do about getting my lawyer fees reduced or refunded for legal malpractice as technically overcharging me was not having my best interest in mind. Super upset. I would recommend finding another title company. Unhappy customer.

Burgess Title/Wm A Miller PC are my go to closing firms whenever possible. They are always prompt, professional and helpful. My clients nor I have had to wait.
