Brian and his team were amazing! I have nothing but good things to say about everyone in that office. Brian & Nicole were always on top of things and were great about navigating me through the divorce process. Thank you again!

Unfortunately this family law could not help me with this time sensitive matter( I needed a different type of lawyer that they do not practice in) but Brian was so friendly and empathetic. I have gotten all the run around with lawyers all morning ,and feeling very stressed. He was a breathe of fresh that I needed to help relieve that by recommending people that could help me. Thank you again again for the help so that I may focus on my family in this time of need

I was a member of Legal Shield, and needed an attorney for a personal injury case-a feral cat bite-which landed me in the hospital for three days because of a massive infection, and lingering extreme pain afterwards.I was referred to and contacted by Mr. Petersen's office, had my initial interview, and he said I had a case. I agreed to have him represent me. This was a mistake. Mr. Petersen was not proactive, and did not show diligence or interests to my case. I had 32 GB of proof which was totally ignored. When I disagreed with him, he tried to push me off on another attorney, not once, but twice-when it was to late. He dragged his feet to the point that I had to accept an offer I did not want, because the Statue of Limitations was running out. I had many other problems with him regarding my case. I would be cautious in having him represent you. My case was so botched, I had no choice but to file a complaint with the Arizona Bar and Legal Shield. My advice to anyone, DO NOT HIRE Edwards & Petersen Law. I would hate to have the same situation happen to you.

I hired Brian because I was referred to him by a recent law school colleague who wasn't yet practicing so I figured Brian was new but that was okay. I liked the way he talked. He seemed to be on his game. I was impressed with his intelligence and he seemed to be super sharp, but in a nutshell Brian came on my case and told me to give the CAA and the Judge and my ex whatever they asked for just to be completely forthright and let the chips fall where they may. Without getting into the specifics of my case I threw caution to the wind, stopped screwing up my case, and listened to everything my attorney said thinking he was going to deliver somehow. Well he never delivered and my money fell by the wayside with nothing to show for it except losing my children to my ex so she was able to take them to another state. I knew we had to remove the CAA but Brian said that would most likely be costly and might not even work, but with the CAA we had I told him the case would be over and it was just as I said; the CAA gave a bad recommendation without any cause (unless you count things such as an email stating she should be ashamed of herself for using the children as weapons. Yes these were my evil acts recorded for all to see). So we showed up for trial but Brian and the other attorney who knew each other I might add, went in to talk to the Judge right before the trial and Brian came out saying the Judge had made up his mind already, based on the CAA's recommendation, and that my ex would be able to take my kids out of state with her new husband. I didn't even have enough time to be devastated when Brian let me know that the agreement was there for me to sign, as this might give me some control over what the Judge would do to me financially because not only were they taking my kids, but they wanted me to pay some of the travel back and forth (along with all the other things I have to pay which means more than half my meaget income). That was the big thing. I couldn't even pay my child support I was so poor and now they were asking for more and Brian said the Judge might ask me to pay for half of the travel or even all of it! I was terrified as I was already in the hole BIG TIME financially and knew the Judge didn't like me already and had stuck it to me in every way he could so leaving it up to him would be terrible. I asked him was there any way for us to proceed with trial and he basically told me I could be way worse off leaving it up to the Judge. So Brian showed me the agreement and when I stated what percentage of the travel I would agree to, a mere 5 percent difference, he jumped up and said "you would be willing to agree to that?" I reluctantly said yes because I was in a pickle. There was no discussion of what else I could bargain for or negotiate, just as soon as I came up with the figure it was Brian rushing over to other counsel to ink the deal. He could have represented my interests in some way. But the fact of the matter is I paid him thousands to never even have to go to trial at all. And now when I told him about the travel or about not representing me he states that I actually owed him thousands more! I was like WHAT? Oh and when we went in to the Judge with the agreement, it was then I found out there was unfavorable conditions I was agreeing to as we had just focused on the travel costs and that was it, but Brian refused to object for me even though I was telling him to. He did not want to rock the boat it seems. And when the opposing counsel made some outlandish statements about what I had supposedly said, I had to speak up for myself and defend that I hadn't said that, Brian was trying to shush me! I couldn't tell you how unrepresented I felt in court with him and I can't un-recommend him enough. The other thing was when I first spoke to Brian I asked him if he would charge me for travel from Mesa and he said no. Guess what? He did, and he told me that I signed the agreement so basically too bad.

I have been going thru a difficult divorce trial. I was referred to Brian Petersen by my Legalshield service. Legalshield has recently removed the Edwards and Petersen from their referral system due to the complaints I made to them about Brian Petersen. This firm requires a 5K deposit balance to be maintained so they can draw from it at will. I revised our contract to reflect that I would deposit to my account as needed. Brian accepted the revision and I made the 5K deposit. I had a Temp Orders hearing in which Brian was to seek temp orders for alimony as all my resources were taken from me by my ex husband. Well he failed at the temp orders hearing. The judge failed to make a decision. Brian never even question my ex on the stand he did not manage the time proficiently. After that I paid another 2K. Due to what happened to me Brian said he would give me time to come up with more money for him since my trial was not until the end of May. Although this was devastating too me as I needed to figure out how to survive but I was working on getting Brian thousands more before trial. During this time Brian was able to agree with the other attorney that I could have my clothes and personal belongings as they were all taken from me. Well Brian set up a meeting in which I had to get a Uhaul and pick up my stuff. I was only given junk from my exes storage and not my stuff at all. Brain said before that if this happened he would file a motion of contempt of court. When I reported to him what happened he said there was nothing he could do and blew me off. I know now it was because I didn't have more money for him to file the contempt. Also after the failed Temp Orders hearing Brian kept asking him to let him withdraw from my case. He said he would take it again after I came up with more money but I would not consent to this as at this time I was starting to not trust him. He sent a threating letter all the sudden demanding that my new balance of over $1300 be paid and my account be brought to a 5K balance or he was withdrawing. He called me and was very demanding and threating. When I reminded him that we revised our contract he became upset. He gave me a week to pay the 1300 and basically asked me to submit a proposal when the rest could be paid and he would discuss it with his partner Edwards. It seemed that Edwards was pressuring him to not honor our revised contract. After telling him when I could pay the 1300 and asked him to honor our contract he gave me the remainder of that week and then withdrew. Both lawyers at this firm have been removed from the Legalshield referral list due to how they have treated me. If you have unlimited resources than this firm will prob help you. If not they will take all you have and leave you hanging. I am filling a bar complaint in two counties due to Brain not honoring our contract and his failures. I will follow up on this site as I get results with that. Also when I had to drive 5 Hrs to pick up my file I called the firm to let them know I would be 10mins late due to traffic. Mr Edwards was very cruel and said he would not wait one min longer than 5:05PM. I had to sleep in my car over night to get my file from them due tom this. Please beware of Brian Petersen. If you don't have unlimited resources he will turn against you and take all youre money and leave you hanging with youre case.

Joshua Edwards was a great representative in my custody case. He was very professional and was knowledgeable about every question I had. I was very stressed about the situation and he handled everything for me. I was very relieved with the outcome. He was also very reasonable with his prices.

Had multiple difficult legal situations that arose, with special circumstances. We needed the attention of someone who could care about how the outcome would effect our family. We hired Josh Edwards on a referral, and we were very happy with how he handled our cases, and the outcomes. We couldn't have done what he did on our own.

I had the pleasure of working with Josh going through a divorce. He always made me aware of the outcomes and scenarios that I should prepare for. I kept moving forward and the outcome could not have been better. We got along quite well. He took the steps necessary and presented a good strategy which was a pivotal move, which worked very well. Thank you Josh

The only reason that I have the most important person in my life-which is my daughter, is because of this law firm. Joshua Edwards, Brian Petersen and all of the paralegals there are the most genuine kind-hearted people that I know. They care about what is right. They give you honest advise, and they fight hard for your case. I hired this law firm for a criminal matter and a family court custody case. If you are going to hire an attorney for a criminal case, or a custody case this is the place to go. Thank God for these guys I don't know where I would be without you.

Words cannot describe how thankful I am for Brian and Nicole. Brian was so upfront and candid with me from the very beginning. Even though the odds were not in my favor, my case turned out exactly how it needed to. I didn’t always like what Brian told me, but I was so thankful for his honesty and expertise. Would highly recommend this firm. Thanks again to you both!

Josh Edwards took over my divorce from another lawyer when she failed to complete my divorce. He did such a good job after he took over. He put my mind to rest. He got me what I asked for and it didn't take very long. I would refer him to other people who ask for a reference. I like Josh he is very personable.

These guys are awesome. I hired Josh for my family court case. He helped prepare me for what court was going to be like, they worked with my budget, they made sure everything was ready. They also set clear expectations. They would hear my ideas and tell me what was plausible and what wasn’t. Josh was always nice and worked hard for me. The secretaries are very sweet as well and are more than willing to work with you. Some of the best money I have ever spent. I highly recommend them.

I simply didn't get the result I expected. I thought Brian was not aggressive enough for me, even though personally was great to talk to. Hired him early Jan and dropped mid October for a child custody case that should not have taken so long. Felt like the other side's attorney was doing whatever he wanted and was dictating the slow pace, and there was nothing we could do. 5k spent and no attorney for the actual trial in march, not happy.

I spoke with Brian regarding a complicated post-decree issue. He was highly knowledgeable, professional and helped me to formulate a clear and effective strategy legal strategy. The amount of stress and concern he helped alleviate cannot be described accurately. I work with many attorneys across the USA, Brian is certainly up there with the best.

I couldn't have made it through the most difficult time in my families' lives if it weren't for the support I received from Brian Petersen and Josh Edwards. They went above and beyond my expectations from the moment I first called them and they helped me to understand what decisions I needed to make and when I faced a crossroad they were clear in what my options where. I'd give them more than five stars if I could.

These guys are awesome. They let us know exactly what we need to do and helped out a great deal with getting our stuff in order. I think they typically do DUI and family law cases but they helped us with contracts and made sure that we drafted them correctly and that they'll hold up in court.

I cannot put into words how happy I am with the results I received with Brian Petersen. We were living in Texas and came back to Arizona to deal with an unreal situation with my son and daughter. We had confidence from the first time that I spoke with Brian and the results have gotten better as time has passed. Brian is one of the best attorneys I have dealt with. He ensured that we were always in the know of the most current details of our case and always let us know what needed to be done to keep us in line with the legal requirements for the courts. If you want to deal with a top notch legal team that isn't just about the money but also heart felt involvement in helping you get the best results possible-- look no further and start right here. Again we can't thank you guys enough for your help.

Brian Petersen, of Edwards & Petersen, is a rare gem of an attorney and person to whom I feel safe referring my own clients and would retain myself if I ever needed trusted counsel. His approach is entirely client-centered, compassionate and effective. A "counselor" in the truest sense, I highly recommend Edwards & Petersen for your Family Law needs.

My wife and I reached out to Brian Petersen and his firm in March of this year and then again this August. We were in a uphill battle with our current court situation regarding child custody and child support and knowing this Brian still took our case. We both believe he did an awesome job and went above and beyond our expectations and he gave us a strong voice in court. Regardless of the outcome from our court hearing, we both would highly recommend Brian and his firm. We are truly thankful for what he did for us.
