I would like to take a moment and thank The Federal Practice Group (Eric Montalvo, Carl Thompson, Ji-Eun Lee and staff/associates) for helping me upgrade my military discharge to full “Honorable” and my re-enlistment code changed to “RE-1A.” It was due to Carol Thompson attention to detail upon reviewing my case file; she was able to discover multiple discrepancies with my United Stated Marine Corps military discharge. On April 2018, Carol Thompson and I made a personal appearance at the Washington Naval Yard and presented the multiple discoveries in violation of the Marine Corps Separation Manual to the Naval Discharge Review Board (NDRB). I have to say, it was tough! I thought the NDRB was not going to rule in our favor (because it is the Marine Corps), but the discoveries of the discrepancies could not be ignored by the NDRB. The evidence Carol Thompson presented to the review board panel was set in stone!!! I received the NDRB final decision on August 2018 after a long waited time. Mr. Montalvo a founding partner, cares about his client's experience and is polite and considerate. If you are a veteran and need a service record correction, I recommend the Federal Practice Group. For any civilian employment issues I can't recommend the firm as highly. My attorney was very polite and worked hard on my case. However, her supervisor, Ms. Friedman was another experience entirely. Ms. Friedman, a supervisingy attorney, is rude and condescending. Ms. Friedman talks over and is frequently unavailable to clients. For that reason I can only give four out of five stars. Otherwise I would give five stars. I still recommend the firm overall because one person's behavior should not affect the entire firm's professional assessment.
