I moved to the DC area from Georgia last year and had to completely redo my estate plan in the process. PJI Law and its owner Paul Abraham were highly recommended by close associates in the area. I recently found myself in the unusual situation in the Summer of 2019 of being accused by the management staff at my apartment complex of making undue noise. Specifically I was being accused of running, stomping, jumping, and chair scraping at all hours of the day and night. I explained to the management staff that the noises they were receiving complaints about were not emanating from my apartment. In fact, I told them that I too was hearing the same noises above me and around me. Suffice it to say, my protests to the management staff went unheeded and I was threatened with eviction. At this point, I was fed up and just wanted to break my lease with no penalty. I contacted Kevin Jaros at PJI Law, PLC and he was the consummate professional. As I vented to him my frustrations I found myself wanting to sue due to the unfair accusations, but he explained to me in layman's terms as to why that outcome might be unlikely and overly costly. In the end, he felt that he could get me out of the lease and explained that he could write a letter to the management staff. The one hour consultation was already costing me $350 and the letter would cost me around $1,500 for a total cost of $1,850. Kevin was very thorough in the way that he explained his cost structure and told me that he had enough substantive work that he didn't need to impose any frivolous billing on his clients. That made me feel really good, but then he did something totally unexpected. He said, "Look, Chad. Why don't you just send them an email and tell them that you want out of the lease, your deposit refunded, and no penalty. CC me on the email and make sure that they know I am cc'd on the email. Maybe they'll just let you go with no further hindrance and this way you can save a whole lot of money." I did exactly as he said and much to my surprise, the apartment complex completely acquiesced to our demands. I want to make it very clear that Kevin didn't have to tell me about the email strategy. He would have been well within his right to just pursue the letter strategy instead and bill me for that time. But he showed compassion and saved me a whole bunch of money and got me out of that ridiculous situation. I did have to bill an extra hour to navigate the final withdrawal from the lease, but paying $700 is a whole lot better than paying nearly $2,000. I would highly recommend anyone to hire Kevin Jaros at PJI Law. Kevin is highly astute with impeccable integrity.

I was referred by a business partner when I needed help negotiating a retail lease. Everyone at PJI was friendly, professional and very accommodating. Whitney is a highly professional and caring attorney. When I first walked into the PJI offices and introduced myself to the receptionist (Anne Marie), she immediately knew who I was and put me at ease with her smile and reassured me that I was in good hands.

Up to this point I had met with five other "highly recommended" wing-tip law firms in Fairfax concerning my personal injury case. Now, they were all very polite and even offered me coffee, but after a few short minutes they dismissed me - not just my case – but me as a person because they said I sustained what they called "low-value return" (soft-tissue) injuries.

Adding insult to injury, they then began to immediately tell me about the weaknesses in my case. Never once did they talk about my permanent injury, how my life has changed nor about my suffering physically and financially.
