My ex also hired him to handle my son's annulment. It's a slam dunk super easy case as my son's wife was still married when she married my son. Mike made excuses about possible problems with joint property etc. They lived together for 10 days in a rented house, and I paid to ship all of her belongings back to her. There was not one single piece of joint property. All he has to do is serve her, then wait 3 weeks and have it declared a non marriage. But, a year (A FREAKING YEAR) later, she still hasn't been served, even though I've asked him at least a dozen times to serve her. She's super easy to find, since she's a secretary for the sheriff dept where she lives, so that's not the problem. THE ONLY PROBLEM IN THIS CASE IS MIKE LASTER. He's already been paid $1500 to do this case, and has racked up most of the charges in partial hours answering phone calls and emails about WHERE WE ARE IN THIS CASE. The longer he drags it out, the more often I have to call or email about where we are in the case, the more hours he bills for answering the phone calls and emails about why he hasn't served her.
