Terrible!!! I don't even know if she practices anymore, but if so, she should be disbarred. When I first met her she went on and on about how evil & narcissistic her mother was. I tried to look past it, but worried she was mirroring and really talking about herself. Before long she made my life and the divorce hell. The office never picked up the phone, and when we met, it was obvious that she was playing games, and using me; she appeared to derive pleasure from dragging on a legal problems at my expense. While she did intervene on my ex trying to steal money from the 401k and with him cutting off health insurance for our daughters, she continued to act in an unprofessional manner. The night before my court date her secretary called me and lied to me about a supposed health problem Karen was having. We had to reschedule. The day before the next court she sent me a letter out of the blue stating that she wasn't going to represent me anymore. I felt so betrayed, but truly wasn't surprised. I talked her off the ledge by complimenting her and making her seem superior (narcissists LOVE that!) My intent was to only make it to THAT court date without her causing more delays, as I wanted to be done with the divorce, and HER once and for all. Once we arrived at the courthouse, I ended up surrendering in the divorce just to get her out of my life. She was not on my side; she was on HER side.

As an additional task when we first met, I was having heart problems during the divorce from all of the stress, so I paid her $250 she requested to write up a will. She took all of my information, (and my money) but never finished the job. After the divorce I inquired about the will, and she said, "Sure, I'll do it for an additional $250". I said, "You told me a will would cost $250 and I already paid you. Other attorneys charge $250, so I'm not paying you $500". Karen's answer? "Then go to another attorney to have it done for $250!" Again I said, "But I already paid you for the job!" Needless to say that I never got my will from her.
If she's still out there RUN!!!!!

Horrible, although I hired and pre paid her for a divorce. She sided with my ex wife. She should be dis barred. Also the work I paid for was incomplete.

She did a ok job for me at the time, but there were things she said not to worry about when it came to cost and that she would wave those. Then I got a bill. When taken the bill up there and explaining it to the secretary. The secretary told me they will take care of it. Received another bill for the next few months. Went back to the office, because they never seem to answer the phone. She told me this time to just ignore the bills. So I did and I finally stopped getting them.

Find another attorney! I retained her as my legal representation for my divorce. The day before the trial date (months and months after we began the process) she informed me that there was a conflict of interest (but wouldn't tell me what that was) and that I needed find other representation.

She kept a large chunk of her retainer and I had to start over with a new attorney.

Completely unprofessional!!
