Mrs. Hotchkiss is a knowledgeable and dedicated attorney. She was extremely efficient and attentive. She fought hard for my interests and got great results!

I spent some time talking to this attorney Mrs. Hotchkiss and felt we had a plan. She stated she needed to be paid before she started the adoption process for my children. I went through hoops to come up with the money to pay her which we were all excited about. Then afterwards, I followed up with her and was anxious to get started after having the money, she was unable to commit to the complexity of the adoption case and was snobbish and wasn’t as excited for this to happen as we were and left us feeling like do we actually have the right caring person and wasn’t feeling the best about her attitude when she stated “you know, go find another attorney because I don’t think I’m the one for you.” All because I was asking questions, trying to find out timelines and get her professional opinion. It’s frustrating when people think they know or understand what you are thinking or know you better then your own thoughts. And just as I thought I’m not sure this is going to work because of the way she snarl at me, she wasn’t interested in helping us. I hung up feeling like what just happen?

Therefore, don’t waste your time with this law firm- find someone else more dedicated to their clients with such matters of the heart that is important to them should be important to the attorney but not Mrs. Hotchkiss. It’s all about easy cases and comfortability in addition to choosing to help who they want. Wrong attitude, wrong profession and bad attitude.

I am so grateful God led me to Ms. Hotchkiss’ office for legal representation. Ms. Hotchkiss helped me with a 2 year custody mess which ended in positive results. She truly cared about my case on a personnel level and I had full trust in her ability to represent my young son’s best interest. Any parent would be emotional in this situation and Ms. Hotchkiss and her administrative team were professional and understanding and kept me focused on the task at hand. My experience with Mrs Hotchkiss has been great. In both times that I have retained her as my lawyer she has done well. Being a male it is hard to get full custody of your children but she saw to it that it happened. She cared about the welfare of my children first and foremost. I would recommend Mrs. Hotchkiss to anyone needing a lawyer for these types of cases.

My experience with the Hotchkiss law firm was wonderful. While a divorce is never something you want to go through, I felt very confident i would be represented to the highest degree possible. I worked Philip Gundlach (a complete disaster) for the custody of my son. My sons mother had recently married a 5 time convicted felon, and I still got hammered!

1. Philip Gundlach promised me that he would fully represent me for 5k, if I did all of the "leg work. I got people served by my friends, ect. I constantly called to see if he needed me to do anything else.

I later learned that Philip Gundlach was charging me for every phone call to see what was needed. He was even charging when we were talking about the NFL games!

2. 1 hour before walking into the courtroom Philip Gundlach tells me that he thinks I should settle, "take whatever they offer and run with it". He then asked me if I were comfortable with Judge Simpson. (he's my attorney, and he's asking me about a man he "had a professional relationship with", and I've never heard of). Phillip assured me that Judge Simpson was "fair across the board " 2 days later Philip tells me that Judge Simpson typically sides with the mother, so I got a good deal considering. . Now I'm stuck with Simpson and may never get to spend significant time with my son.

3. Philip was confident that he could get me significant visitation with my son.

Prior to acquiring this firm, I was keeping my son 15 days per month with no child support. After court with Hotchkiss representing me, I ended up with everyother weekend and 2 hours on Wednesday and $500 child support. I'm responsible for any and all transportation. I'm not allowed to put my son in extra curricular activities. And the list goes on!

4. After I got royally screwed, I wanted to file an appeal.

Philip Gundlach advised me that I needed to wait for a year before I appealed. Only to find out 6 months later that the appeal has to be done immediately. That after I paid $900 for the transcript of the court hearing.

5. After all of this Hotchkiss and Associates sent me bills asking for more money, because it took longer than expected.

I can't create in my mind a worse firm to work with for a Custody Case. And Philip Gundlach will let you say as much as you would like in court, but offers nothing to help your case.

Ms. Hotchkiss is a kind and diligent attorney, who truly cares about those she represents. She is thorough in her process and dedicated to representing her clients to the best of her ample ability. She is very knowledgeable in the Maryland laws, and if she is not sure about an issue that arises, she is dutiful in acquiring the information she needs to represent you well. Our experience with her exceeded our expectations, she put us at ease and did a wonderful job with our case.
