Do not hire this guy. I hired Jonathan Bissoon Dath, he told me the same thing every time we spoke, "we're going to need to meticulous and carefully work on a plan." He would then disappear. I wouldn't hear from him for awhile, wondering if my case is getting worked. He doesn't ever communicate via email, unless he is sending a document or setting up a time to call. He does not respond to your emails. Ive sent this guy an exuberant amount emails, the only time I ever got a response was when I put in the subject *** I need you to respond to my email ***. If you like email communication, he is not your guy
When talking to a guy like this you're going to want written communication. He tells you he's going to "meticulous and carefully plan things" and then disappear with no work. When the work does show up, it's his own misinterpretations of what you said to him, and error-ridden documents that he needs to go back and fix his own mistakes. At one point, when his misinterpretations became too common, I told him I'm going to have to do his work. I, then, provided him a declaration that was far better and he wanted to, now, work off my declaration. Oh weird, I thought he was the lawyer. What am I playing this guy for?
He is sick very often. This cost me a lot of money. He used it to explain the disappearing on multiple occasions. When you're hiring an attorney, you want someone who is available to respond to your emails, goes to work for you, this is not that kind of guy. It came up too often and sounded like an excuse for not doing work.
I was scratching my head so much at the work he displayed. I required him to conference me in the next time he was speaking with the other party's attorney. This is when I found out he was a horrible lawyer. He could not convey my wishes verbally to the other party effectively. He kept rambling on about things that didn't matter and had nothing to do with the case until I had to step in, and communicate my desires to the other party's attorney. This is what attorneys are for. He was very ineffective. This is when I realized I needed somebody else. He was very below average when negotiating over the phone with the other party. He should be selling used cars, don't let him get involved in your life. He cost me a lot of money.
If you have already hired this guy, require him to provide written responses to your emails. He will never do it and that is not a good sign from an attorney.
