I have no clue where all of the bad reviews come from. Mr.Spencer has been nothing but an amazing attorney to me on 3 cases. There’s only so much a good attorney can do on some cases and I feel like that’s where people come in with the bad reviews. My probation got violated from a charge over 2 years old. I’ve been doing great since then. My Spencer got my time re suspended. He does make promises and keeps them. He knows a lot of people and can pull a lot of strings. Thanks to mr.spencer I got to spend Christmas with my children. He really does do his best

John Spencer talks a good talk, but when it comes down to final court dates he doesnt deliver on the promises he made. First time offense, was promised probation and a fine. Walked out of court with 6 months jail time with 5 years "suspended" and indefinite probation.

We decided to hire him because he has gotten a couple friends out of serious trouble. In the end, I feel like he picks and chooses what clients he will wholeheartedly represent based off of race, and how much money can be provided at once.

John Spencer is all talk and bluster and no action. He talked a great talk, but did not prepare my friends case and pressured him into taking a TERRIBLE plea deal at the last minute. He disappeared for weeks at a time, and kept saying they had "plenty of time to prepare the case!"

I don’t know what the other people deal were that gave Mr. Spencer such a bad rating but he is a awesome attorney. He was very understanding and got the job done and got my all charges dropped. If you want to win go with John M Spencer. Let him work his magic.

Mr. Spencer did more for me than the last 2 lawyers did. He did everything he said he would do and more. If you need a lawyer, this guy is the best. Get him, and let him work his magic.

Mr. Spencer made promises to a military family I know. However.he failed to do what he said. The daughter needed a lawyer. Dad was deploying and Mr. Spencer told dad not to worry. Fast forward to the court date. Mr Spencer showed up and told the court that he hasn't been paid and not representing the daughter. Didn't tell the family and never asked for money and the family was willing to pay. Avoid him at all costs.

Mr. Spencer is very knowledgeable, however he gets his clients hopes up and their families and in the end he doesn't produce anymore than a public defender could have. Save your money and go for the public defender. My son in law should have done just that.

Unfortunately my past has led me to have many negative encounters with the law in Stafford County. I learned the hard way being represented by 3 different lawyers in the area. Let me first start off that I think Mr Spencer is a very knowledgeable attorney. He talks a very good game at first, telling you he will be able to do this and that for you but in all honesty the final product is the total opposite. There were several mistakes made in my son's case. When I asked to have him look into it he said he would but I don't believe he ever did. He just stopped communicating with me. Did not receive a call back, no emails returned nor text. I wasn't constantly sending them, maybe once a week. I even said if he need more money to get it done let me know. No answer. I don't know about you but I think that's a poor way of doing business. I could respect someone who takes 10 minutes out of there day just to tell me the truth. I finally went to another attorney and they gave me that. They didn't even charge me for it. My advice to anyone looking for an attorney, shop around...
