Mr. Rosenthal and his team represented me in a custody/child support case. I have never needed representation before and had no idea what the process entailed or how to go about navigating the family court system which can be very difficult and intimidating. They were honest and straightforward, knowledgeable, and were quick to respond to my many emails and questions, even on the weekends. His rates were very affordable which was a big deal for me because I had already spent hundreds of dollars on a paralegal before I had found Matthew. I walked into court nervous and anxious, and Paige did a great job of calming my nerves and assuring me she had it handled. With the help of Paige, they were able to get my son’s mom to agree to my requests (which is not an easy thing) and the case was settled without conflict. She even caught “mistakes” on my ex's income declaration at the last minute and saved me from paying hundreds of dollars more a year in Child Support than what it should have been. I left court feeling like my son's mom and I got what was fair, and I never would have been able to do it on my own. I highly recommend this law office.

Well... divorces are never fun but working with people who know what they're doing help! Mathew helped me with my divorce YEARS ago and every so often I will have a question and he timely calls me back to offer his input on how I can navigate things and use his services. My ex-husband hired Matthew Rosenthal to represent him in our divorce. Our divorce started out amicable, until my ex handed the case fully over to Mr. Rosenthal, allowing him to do all of the "speaking" on his behalf. You can expect claims of false court hearings, refusal to provide legal information you would normally be able to retrieve from your spouse's financial disclosures, petty responses to inquiries in regards to the status of the case, and lengthy due dates that supersede CA's timeline for processing/filing divorce indicating that nothing has actually been filed. Mr. Rosenthal will let the meter just run, and run, at your expense. Matthew would contact me with a bullying/pressuring demeanor attempting to get me to place a home I co-own with my ex, onto the market for sale, with NO settlement outlining how we would split the proceeds. When I refused, he became upset and the fictitious court hearings began. I called him out every step of the way, and his responses became less frequent, short and petty as if he has an immature mindset. 1 month later, and no evidence from the State of CA backing his hearing claims, almost 3 months later of me communicating I would accept my ex's original offer (from 3 months ago) of 50/50 split after certain bills were paid first from the sale of the co-owned home, and Matthew's responses have become non-existent, and short. Call his office and he always, "just stepped out for the day". He prefers everything via email or mail, I was never served anything in person, and to date (almost 9 months later) I have only seen one document with a stamp from the State of CA on it. Nothing else can be confirmed. This guy will take your money, while personally building a solid case for the other party to use against you later on. He also had my Yelp review removed, for telling the truth! Keep looking.

Matthew did not seem interested in helping me other than filing paperwork. He seemed not at all interested in helping me do what was best for my kids.

When I was unable to pay my bill on time, Matthew refused to represent me in court. Instead, he showed up at the hearing, said hello to the judge, and sat in the gallery and watched me fail to represent myself adequately.

Because of Matthew, I have been paying child support for the last two years as if I only see my kids 5% of the time, even though I see them 50% of the time.

The money I gave him was all I had. I can’t afford another lawyer and have to figure this out on my own.

Mr. Rosenthal championed for my daughter and a. He’s helped us untangle very messy and complex custody, DVRO, and contempt issues, while being budget sensitive. Matthew has my utmost confidence and respect and I’m so happy he is representing my family.

Mr. Rosenthal has reasonable fees. This is the only reason I am rating him 2 stars. He does not have the wherewithal to handle a difficult case despite being given the lengthy history of it prior to accepting. If you are seeking a family law attorney that can go the distance and stick with his client through all the matters of one's case he is not the best choice.

I spoke with Matthew for about 30 minutes and right away I knew that he was someone that was looking to help me as best he can. If you want someone that makes you feel comfortable, has a lot of knowledge, and is willing to assist you the best they possibly can without giving you misleading information, I would definitely recommend Matthew Rosenthal.

I couldn't have been more pleased with Mr. Rosenthal. He called me after business hours to discuss my case and didn't seem to care about the fact he was working after hours, the only thing he seemed to care about was the details of my case and ensuring he had answered my questions to the best of his ability. I felt as if my situation was a pressing matter as it involved my son, and even though busy the next day, took time out of his schedule to meet with me. The sit down with him proved to be equally as genuine and helpful. He really took an interest in my situation even though it was probably one he sees frequently. He was able to get valuable information for me from even out of state, and advice on how to follow up and pursue my case. It being an out of state case, helping me further was out of his scope because of law differences between states however, within an hour or two after meeting, he followed up with me via cell phone and got me in contact with someone all the way across the state to help me further my case. He told me if there was anything he could do further to call him and let him know. This is something I am definitely going to do if the need arises. Mr. Rosenthal's compassion, professionalism, and sincere character was a breath of fresh air. I REALLY feel like I've got a professional on deck if I need him. Thank you very much Mr. Rosenthal, although our time may have been brief, you got me on the right track to pursue my case. Anyone who needs family law counsel I would advise to check him out first. He is the type that truly wishes to help people, and not just make a quick buck.
