I contacted Altamont, LDA on 8/1/17 for expedited assistance in filling out an uncontested divorce I'd been putting off for a few years. I was greeted by Devon Bolla, owner and Legal Document Assistant who was happy to assist me with my case. The agreement was to pay a fee of $549 for the services. After paying the $549, I was informed I would need to pay an additional $435 if a fee was not waived. Devon was flexible with allowing me to make payments via cash app, but that's about where the service ended. I was told work on my case would begin in August. I'd completed all of my payments by November. I asked Devon how long the process would take. Shortly after I paid all of the funds, the website went down, the phone number went down, none of the emails I sent Devon were replied to for about a month. It wasn't until looking the business up on Yelp and finding another client who had gone through the same thing. I requested my money back via cash app and threatened to sue. She then replied with a new business name, address & phone number. She filed one paper with the court in January. Has not done anything for me since. I am now filing my own paperwork and per the court's advice, filing a BBB complaint. Do not trust Altamont LDA, Valley Docs Done, Legal Docs Done...any various aliases associated. They will take your money, not communicate with you and not provide the services promised. I would like my money back so I can just finish the process myself. It should not take 8 months to file one paper with the court. It should not take 5 phone calls and ten emails to respond to your client. Communication is key, Devon has none.
