Worst company i ever worked with. fought for it for 7 years and failed . dident send me paperwork missed hearings and when it went federal i was droped and not notified till after it was too late. Same Day i was notified i asked for my paperwork and they said they send it 1 month later i call back and was told they shreded everything. Now i have to restart my case and find a new lawyer that will accept me with out paperwork showing they are not my lawyer anymore. Because of them me and my family are homeless .

This law firm is well known but seem to rip off small business owners like myself. Though It’s been few years for me, but what Mr. Michael Malter did still bothering me till today!. After prior consultations I had with two BR attorneys, I was referred by one of them to Binder and Malter to file my CH 11 case. Then I went to what supposedly be a free consultation. Mr. Malter agreed to take my case and asked me to come back with doc’s and $10k retainer. We met again briefly when I dropped requested items on time and then told me he will start the filling process. About two weeks later, I. called the office to get status update. I was told the office is behind because one of Malter assistant’s spouse sick. A week later just before my deadline approaches to file, so I can remove a house lien was placed by an aggressive creditor, Michael told me he wants $100k for my case. I told him I will ask family members for help and bring you the money as due. Few days later, he called me from his car and told me he can’t file my case because he (solely) decided is too expensive for my case. I end up seeking the help of another attorney who missed up my CH 11. A week later I received an invoice from Malter for $7500. They returned $2500 from my retainer check of $10K. When I raised my concerns about the unfair invoice with Malter, his answer was it’s too late to discuss the invoice. I hope this will never happen to anyone who decide to use this office so be aware of they did.

1. They agreed to take my case then changed their mind a month later without any change to my case or financials shrinking the time I must file from six weeks to only three days.
2. They charged me $500 for the free consultation.
3. They deducted $7500 from my retainer. What for? I have no idea still till today as they did nothing absolutely nothing to help my case but the opposite in delaying my filing and forcing me to settle for incompetent lawyer.
4. They refused to answer my concerns about the invoice.

So alone. I had to do and provide everthing. I never had legal counsel, for 7 years. Case workers changed every other call. Please look elsewhere or do it yourself. If you are already in it under appeal, let the court decide how much they ge if and when you win. They over billed for "Legal service" when in fact it was administrative. Do not feel pressured to pay. You don't have to. The court decides.

My Binder & Binder attorney was knowledgeable and effective. The process seems endless, but that's to be expected. I feel they were essential in winning my case.

Run, don't walk away, RUN! Just wasted 20 months with these folks. Poor job of preparing the initial request, then they filed bankruptcy shortly after we signed with them. No one told us until we saw it online! Could not understand why the initial person took 16 medical issues and only listed 1, then we had 3 Advocates in '15, none knew what the last people had done. Learned they were closing offices, laying off people. Now, they do not have their own attorneys or reps filling out requests in each area, they are contracting with local folks for services. You have the right to leave and you can call your US Senator's offices, your Congress representatives and they will help you. Binder and Binder must return your records, They will try to charge SS for their hours, if you document you conversations and your losses, due to their negligence, there is a chance you can get that completely eliminated. Go to your own local representative and let them advise you. Their Tampa office had no phone service for over a week and I never got callbacks from there after that. I looked online today, they do not have an office at that address on Martin Luther King Blvd online. Best of luck, do not add this burden to your worry and frustrations Keep in mind, the longer they can keep you waiting, the larger their commission, There is a max that SS will pay them, about $6,000, and it is to their advantage to stretch these out. Good luck!
