The upside of entrepreneurship is that when something goes wrong, you have only yourself to blame. So you slap your forehead, use an expletive to address yourself, and then you move on. As someone who has owned and operated a number of small businesses, I've lived through many ups and downs, all of which were of my making, with one exception.
This particular retail business had thrived for almost three decades. Then one day, the building next door was sold to an off-shore developer who tore it down and commenced building a six-story, 112 unit condominium that towered over us. A blocked sidewalk, trash and trucks everywhere, and a lot of noise all combined to wreak havoc. Revenues plunged by almost 40% overnight and the business began to hemmorage cash. In desperation, I contacted two different lawyers who informed me that I had no recourse against the developer. Although the City of SF wanted to help, obtaining enough funds to stay open was next to impossible. My back was against the wall as I was rapidly running out of options and cash. The prospect of 20 great employees losing their livelihoods and my having to close the business was very difficult to accept. It was in this mindset that I took the advice of the two lawyers I initially spoke to and contacted Jeff Curl.
During our initial meeting, Jeff calmly explained the process and suggested that although I faced a difficult decision, once I made it, I would feel much more at ease. He was right. When we began the business disolution a few weeks later, it was like having a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Jeff was a pleasure to work with. He was never pushy, very responsive and professional, and, for lack of a better term, had a wonderful "bedside manner". Although I hate to use the word pleasantly when describing an unpleasant situation, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the entire process proved to be.
If you're unlucky enough to find yourself in a jam, there is no one better than Jeff Curl.

Jeff did a great job of explaining the process, spelling out the details of my Chapter 7 petition, and guiding me through the meeting with the bankruptcy trustee. Very much recommended.

JC Law Group is a great choice for bankruptcy counsel. I am an attorney in San Francisco and constantly refer clients to Jeff and Jeena. Those that i have referred have consistently provided me with great feedback based on their experiences with JC Law Group. They are intelligent, practical, and attentive. Jeff and Jeena will work with clients to make sure that the best course of action is taken while ensuring that the client understands the process and what possible outcomes can result.
I highly recommend you sit down with Jeff and Jeena if you are having financial difficulties.
I can’t say enough good things about Jeff and Jeena. They helped me out of a rough situation with a previous employer. Jeff spelled out all my options and let me choose the path I needed to take. I unfortunately had to go through a trial and the JC Law Group represented me well in court and helped come to a reasonable solution. They always had my best interests in mind and gave me valuable advice.
