We had very difficult situation with our online school. They've breached the agreement each year, not providing services, cutting services, etc.The last incident is where they agreed to provide schooling but failed in doing so and my son did not get any schooling for months and our current attorney at that moment was useless - I came to Mandy and hoping she can help with the breach of contract and not hoping for much actually - but WOW WOW WOW - SHE IS THE BEST ATTORNEY in my 10 years of experience with school and services - she pulled through very difficult case in a very short period of time, I am forever thankful for her help and I wish I started with her 10 years ago, I could've saved my life from griefs, tears and headache the school system had done to me and my son. My son Cortez was misdiagnosed, it wasn’t til he was over 3 years old when we learned he was profoundly Deaf in both ears. After the long process of qualifying and receiving his cochlear implants Cortez was 5 years old. 95% of the world was against my decision in giving Cortez an oral education and the wonderful opportunity to live in a oral world. Educators , therapists, Doctors, they all said it was to late for Cortez to be oral. They said Cortez had lots of other issues that would prevent him being successful in life. The IEP’s were mentally draining. I went to Mandy Leigh firm for help. Mandy was exceptional in every way. She was extremely knowledgeable about my rights as a Mother. Our school district special education staff would have gladly continued kicking the can down the road forever, blaming everything on us (the thoroughly exhausted parents), and would have been satisfied with our child becoming a drop-out delinquent - if not for Mandy. Somehow the school district figured that a 0.0 GPA was not a problem for a kid with a complex IEP and many years of academic failure. When Mandy got involved, they started to listen, started to cooperate, and the stalling and intimidation ceased, replaced by a willingness to place our child in a supportive, therapeutic environment where he continues to thrive (3.2 GPA & teachers describing him as “conscientious” & “wonderful,” and that they “couldn’t ask for a better student.” That has NEVER happened before!). Even the school district’s attorney started to publicly advocate for our child, in opposition to the special education director, who was so accustomed to blocking every helpful idea, test, or accommodation. It was nothing short of amazing. Mandy is not cheap, but our child’s life is priceless and he now has a future. We recommend Mandy wholeheartedly.

I personally would not recommend this law firm, our experience was bad enough I feel we were mislead. I have filed a complaint with the state bar over this. We were told we could precede forward how we wished with the case by one of the lawyers in the firm by email. Shortly after we received another email from Mandy threatening not to represent us anymore Over asking to take som stipulations out of a CWE form. We were honestly wondering why the switch in behavior in just a couple days difference but we feel this was not an uncommon occurrence during our about 6 month long relationship with this firm. We were told several times they would go after attorney fees for us and now we have no lawyer to do this, so we have suffered the loss of all our attorney fees. We are not a rich family so this is a huge loss for us. It was also stressful dealing with what we think were aggressive emails and threats from Mandy. Please beware, if you have the money to lose and don’t mind dealing with someone aggressive towards their clients then I feel you may be fine. If you are barely pulling it together to hire them like us, I wish I would have gone somewhere else. If you have a hard time dealing with aggressive people, I also wish I would have gone somewhere else. We even heard from professional colleagues their opinion on how difficult they felt Mandy was to deal with, I will not name this colleague as I would hate for Them to have anything come of them sharing an opinion. We appreciate that persons honesty and should have gone with our gut instincts much earlier.

We can't stress enough the importance of hiring an education attorney to guide you through the IEP process. When fighting for your dyslexic child, it is not as straight forward as one might think. Most dyslexic children have an average to above average IQ, thus making the IEP or 504 process more complicated.
