Well, I had hired a lawyer for my DUI prior to finding Jim Dunn, so I have something to compare too. My previous lawyer was Mark Blair, recommended by a friend. Mark had a 6 page paper explaining why he deserved a $2000 retainer and why that was him being lenient. Mark came to court, stood in front of the judge, said his name, and the judge made a ruling and Mark wasn't even sure what it was. Mark was not personable, you always had to go through his secretaries, and it felt like we had to chase him down. We felt he didn't earn his money and I even went to jail anyway because of some honest miscommunications with with court that Mark was supposed to handle but didn't.
So after being forced out of my house early on a Saturday morning and thrown in jail, my girlfriend was able to get a hold of Jim Dunn, who not only visited me in jail on a Sunday evening, but took care of the paperwork to get me transferred to him while getting a court date that next Monday. He also didn't even need the retainer before he started working on my case.
