This was a difficult decision but I felt better after I left. Everyone in the office from the Receptionist to the final lady April that I met with was great. My wife and I are retired, we are living on our retirement income and S.S.I. Things were going OK until I became ill and was hospitalized. When you have debts and suddenly there is an increase because of a sickness, it will not be long before you are over your head in debt! Yes we made some mistakes along the way and we have learned from our mistakes.
Things got even worse when we went to a company that was suppose to re-negotiate our debts in 4 to 6 months so we could lower our monthly payments. We paid them $1244 a month for 9 months and all they did was re-negotiate one debt. They said because we were so faithful in paying each month they had a sister company that would give us a loan for $100,000 to pay off all our debts at a payment of around $1244. But when the paper work came back the payment was $1800 a month for 6 years. Which was putting us in a worst position then we were before we came to them. The break down of the payment was $50,000 to pay off our renegotiated debts and $50,000 for their fees. We knew we were in trouble and had been scammed. Plus we were given a law suite from one of our debtors. We were sickened, I could tell you more but it would turn your stomach.
I didn't know if John Orcutt could help us or not, we thought that they would laugh us out of their office. And tell us we were own our own! I won't tell you how concerned we were when we walked into their office. The first thing we were told was, they have dealt with this company many times before in the pass. They let us know up front they could help us and they have done it before to help others in the same situation with the same company. God answered our prayers.

We wanted to thank April Ayscue for helping us file our Bankruptcy paperwork. She made the process seem so easy and straight forward. She sincerely showed us she cared without saying it in words but showed it in deeds. She never got tired of returning our calls when we had questions or needed help with the paper work that we had to bring in. She kept us abreast about things we needed to bring in or anything we had to do to meet deadlines. She let us know from the beginning that they would be able to help us get back on track with our finances so we could stop worrying and start over. I was very impressed with this office from my first visit. I submitted some information through their website. When I came in for my first appointment, the paralegal who helped me (Melissa) was ready to explain my options and next steps. She was reassuring and helpful. She sent me home with a packet of forms to fill out.
My next 2 visits were with April Ayscue, another paralegal. It was easy to work with her. I was a little embarrassed to ask some questions. She was not judgmental at all and she answered my questions thoroughly. We went through some very detailed paperwork easily because she was so competent about what to do to answer items that confused me.

Receptionist was very pleasant and inviting but after completing 10 pages of questionnaires then got the “Paralegal from Hell” who didn’t even introduce herself before digging her pitchfork into me worse than the creditors I owe! Didn’t take a minute to decide that it’s better to put up with those harassing phone calls than Orcutt where you NEVER get to see a lawyer, just paralegals who treat you worse than the creditors once you sign on the dotted line!

I was very nervous and embarrassed about bankruptcy. The love and concern April Ayscue showed me calmed my nerves. She answered all my questions. Answer the phone no matter when I call her. Her honesty and concern helped me sleep better than I have in 3 years. My only regret is that I should have contacted John Orcutt office 3 years ago.

Having to declare bankruptcy or even consider it is terrifying! We weren’t even sure it was the best choice for our family but it was our only option. We had a friend refer us to John Orcutt and are so glad we chose them. The majority of our case was prepared and handled with care by the paralegals from start to finish. The first-Ms. Weaver and last-Nikki West who are 2 of the 3 paralegals we were working with were kind and responsive and treated us like family. I know their office sees a lot of clients but Nikki West our post filing paralegal is just amazing!! June, 2011 our family was in despair with debt so we had a consultation from that point we was told help is on the way which after paying $500.00, we couldn't afford, with several weeks passing a phone call notified us that we didn't qualify then we chalk it up as experience. Fast forward yesterday(4/29/19) we decide to go by the office to ask why assistance was denied back in June, 2011 by leaving our contact info so today(4/30/19) the paralegal said "Based on the initial consultation our income, at the time, prohibited the legal team from going forward" yet they still proceeded, collected our $500.00, then brushed us off. By the grace of God Mr. Ed Bolts decided to go above, beyond to rectify our past experience as contacting us with sincerity then elected to issue a refund. With an addition my apologies to Ms. Glenda.

When I first went in I was so nervous however April Ayscue made me feel very relaxed. I appreciate her time and all the others that have helped me with this emotional time and process.
