Reported Mr. Barnette to the Professional Board of Responsibility. Mr. Barnette is good at resolving simple issues such as debt collections and unemployment benefits. He convinced me (I have it in writing) to file suit against my former employer. Hefty fee was paid for through PayPal. Other than two emails in one and a half years, I never received any other kind of communication from Mr. Barnette. I thought at some time we would have a one on one consultation. That never happened. I don't even know what Mr. Barnette looks like. I found out months later that he had dismissed my case without consulting me due to "overwhelming evidence against me" during the Motion for Summary Judgement. I went to the Federal Courthouse and they pulled my file. There was never was a Motion for Summary Judgement; for that matter, almost all of the motions were made by the Defendants. I took all of this to the Board of Professional Responsibility. In all of the back and forth communications, Mr. Barnette called me a liar. I was able to provide all documents proving I was not lying, and suggested Mr. Barnette produce all of his documents. He couldn't. The Board slapped a 3-year suspension on him. If he refunds my fee, (as well as the fees of three others that brought charges against him) within a year, he will serve out the remainder of the suspension on probation. By the way, the address he lists is his home. Another address is on Union Street in Nashville and, W. Virginia. Beware, too, of his name changes; e.g. Barnette Law, Jason Barnette, Jason W. Barnette, or Jason Wade Barnette. Just find another attorney.

The address he lists as his office is not his home or office. It is in fact a residential home. I found out he does not live or work there. So he is lying!!. According to the Board of Professional Respnsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. He is not even a Tennessee attorney. How can u say u practice in a city that you are not an attorney of. I would take any complaints to the Board

I hired this attorney to help me on a an account in collections with Midland Funding. Hired him back in August of 2014 and have no results. I have tried getting ahold of him to find out the status of my case no answer, no return calls, I have emailed and no responses. I decided to try and go to his office today and it's actually a house. He is fake, he is a thief.

Jason W. Barnett is the most honest attorney I have ever dealt with. He told me upfront he might or might not be able to remove debt, but thought he could win for me. He spent hours talking to me anytime I asked him, because I was afraid of which attorney to choose. Thank God I chose Jason Wade Barnette in Nashville, TN, because he won everything in my favor. Jason's fees were very reasonable. He always returned every phone call or email instantly back to me asap, usually within five minutes. If you don't choose Jason you are making a big mistake. He knows the law on debt collectors. My name is Deanna, I am financially "debt free only", because of attorney Jason Wade Barnette, without him I would be in debt for years. He also knows the Statue of Limitation and current law rules for debt collection. I have one more item we are working on in September 2015. I live out of Nashville. We did everything by phone and email. He is the attorney to hire for debt collections success for me.

I retained Mr. Barnette as representation when my former employer appealed my unemployment decision. I couldn't have asked for better representation, it is clear he really knows the tactics employers will pursue to seek a favorable outcome and he is a great help in navigating the unemployment hearing(s). I would definitely recommend him to anyone going through this difficult process.

Back in December, I found out I was being sued by a large debt collector. Panicked, I began calling many of the consumer attorneys in the Nashville area, only to be told that my only recourse was to settle or pay-in-full.

That's when I called Jason. He took the time to listen to my circumstances and immediately informed me that I had various defenses to challenge the suit in court and assured me that I would never have to pay a cent to these bottom-feeders that took my $3,000 debt and ballooned it to more than $10,000. In August of this year, my cases were dismissed with prejudice in General Sessions court and the debt collector agreed to negate my debts and promised to never sell them to anyone... all due to the diligence and legal expertise of Jason Barnette.

If you're being sued by a debt collector, Jason Barnette is the attorney you need on your side. I can't begin to describe the wealth of knowledge he has in dealing with such matters. He was patient, understood my anxiety, and responded immediately to my questions. Be patient, as these matters do not resolve themselves overnight, and trust Jason to take care of you. You will not be disappointed.
