Back in 2012 I hired Efrem Rosenfeld and his firm to handle a case for my company. Long story short, a product that my company produced was being counterfeit and sold using our companies name and packaging - thanks China! Mr. Rosenfeld assured me over and over that his firm could handle the case and since I reside in Florida that he would be on top of it. He symptahized with me and I paid his fee of $10,000. After a few weeks I noticed that the response rate had gone down, e-mails weren't being returned, everytime I called the firm my case had been "re-assaigned" as the person was no longer with the firm. I eventually filed a complaint with the Bar of Nevada against this firm.
I was contacted by phone several days later by Mr. Rosenfelds firm threatning me that if I did not drop the case, they would no longer cooperate with me to come to a resolution. A few days later, a representative from the Bar of Nevada contacted me to inform me that this firm has filed for bankuptcy and because of this, they could not be of any help. I thought I was being pranked that the Bar who is supposed to regulate attorneys could not be of any assistance.
To this day, I still receive letters in the mail in regards to the bankuptcy case and court hearings that are going on. A list of many other people who were taken advantage of were provided to everyone and it was quite the list. Not only did my company suffer immensely, but so did my family. Not only did the counterfeiters continue, but the $10,000 which I spent completely destroyed us and left us unable to hire additional representation. As a small business owner, trying to live the American dream, Mr. Rosenfeld and his associates should be ashamed of his actions. I know that I will never see my money again, but it's purely about principle at this point.
