Terrible, terrible experience. Hired him three plus years ago, he did NOTHING of what he said he would. Had the judge threaten to revoke my bond due to his not showing up!!! His last no show was at the pre-trial!!! DO NOT USE THIS MAN

Jim gets the job done. He helped my family out of a difficult situation. He always responds and gives great advice when needed. Sent a couple of my friends to him and they had a good outcome.

He is a great attorney who will fight for you when the system attempts to railroad you. If it wasn't for Jim Shaw I would most likely be in prison right now instead of writing this review.

We worked hard and made several sacrifices to pay this man BEFORE we went to court. He kept postponing the court date because he wasn't prepared all the time soaking us for more cash. Come court day, he THREW US UNDER THE BUS! Do not use this lawyer! He's a crook. My man is serving time now for a crime he didn't commit. Don't let this be you. Look elsewhere.

Awful experience! Paid an arm and a leg for no representation in court and we ended up resolving without his assistance working directly with the court. He makes you pay 100% in advance so be careful... we ended up paying him for absolutely NOTHING! This guy is every lawyer cliche and does not care what happens to his clients! If he did, he would not have ignored multiple phone calls after not showing up for a court date. And would have been eager to assist with any repercussions from his mistake. Sooo lucky we are not the suing type. I have never wanted to take someone to court more than this lawyer! Totally incompetent and has no ethical standards. Hire anyone else! You'll end up representing yourself anyways. If you do take a chance with him, I would make sure to show up to court to ensure he is doing the job you are paying him to do.

Attorney Shaw is exceptionally professional and knowledgeable about the legal system and expresses true caring throughout the whole process.

I hired Jim in late December to represent me in court since I live in Houston Texas.
I paid him $1500 to represent me in court and to have my misdemeanor traffic ticket put onto a deferred judgment so that it will not go on my record. I received and email from Jim stating that they had taken care of the citations, but upon calling the courthouse found out that that was completely untrue. All Jim had to do was to contact the courthouse which i informed him of and he said he would fax it over. I waited for his reply but he never contacted me.
Then I recieved a letter in the mail from the courthouse stating my court date was missed and i was found guilty of all charges. I didn't panic too much at this time because I figured I have a lawyer and it's all gonna be taken care of. After calling the courthouse for over three weeks straight trying to find out when this was being resolved because Jim would never call me back so I had to go through the courts to find out what was being done.
So now I am told that I have a warrant for my arrest and I also have a record that is already been put onto my license which is now going to be suspended. So to make a long story short I paid $1500 to get a warrant and to be thrown into jail because of Jim Shaw.
Upon researching Jim, it looks like he went to school for biology, and then a high school teacher and a real estate consultant. So stay far away from this attorney. DO NOT PAY UPFRONT. I am currently seeking advice from the Oklahoma Bar and will be pursuing legal a tion against this firm.
You know wouldn't have been so bad if there would've been some communication, but not even a I,m sorry not even a let's see what we can do to figure this out. Just plain flat out ignored us.

UPDATE: 10/27/2016 we contacted Jim Shaw after getting everything figured out with the courts, I requested that he made sure that nothing was going against my drivers license and that I had to pay a fee for not making it to court which he was to reimburse me for his negligence. We also left several messages with his assistant named Amber, requesting all the files from the court cases which she is required to handover to us. Here a few months later we have still yet to receive even a simple phone call from Jim Shaw letting me know that everything is OK (no worries I know all the people of the court personally now, so I do know everything is all right it's just the Jim never called, never reimbursed even after I heated discussion over the phone over him not showing up to court) or the court case files we requested or a reimbursement. I did agree to take this posting down if all that was accomplished. As you can see it's still posted.
if it was up to me, Jim would be sitting in jail for theft. It is your right in the United States of America to get a fair trial. And with Jim not giving his customers a fair trial..........I believe all his rights and the licensing as a lawyer should be stripped from him.
DO NOT HIRE, DO NOT PAY UP FRONT. if you decide to use this lawyer please use an app on your phone that will record all your conversations as I did, and keep all your records to show the court so that you can handle it yourself as I did. And once again it just wasn't Jim himself that dropped the ball, it was his whole firm including Amber the secretary as well, sorry she claimed to be his assistant. So it looks like this is the culture of this firm. BE VERY CAREFUL HIRING ANYONE FROM THIS OFFICE, As they can't even handle simple traffic tickets, I could only imagine how they would do in real cases.

Awful! Sat in County jail because he wouldn't show up after I paid him $3,750... was an hour and a half late the time before that... he screwed me on my case by not keeping me informed... I called him but never got a response.. he won't answer a phone call or text message from me or any of my family... he lied to my judge and said he couldn't contact me but I have the call log showing I called him and never got a call back until the day before court.... then I called the morning of and he told me he wasn't going to be there but they will give me a new date and to call him when I got out.... the judge held me in contempt because he wasn't there and claimed he didn't think I was going to be there... DO NOT USE THIS LAWYER... IF YOU THINK YOUR IN TROUBLE NOW WAIT AND SEE WHAT HE DOES FOR YOU!!! I had to hire a new attorney and make a new bond and turns out he screwed me out of my plea by not being there... now I'm lookin at 5 years.... asked for at least a partial refund seeing as he only showed up to 3 court dates (an hour and a half late on one) and he has yet to call or text me letting me know what he's doing about all this.... so he is the worst and I am filing a grievance right now with all my call logs and messages printed out... STAY AWAY FROM HIM YALL!!

Do NOT use this guy, wants to charge an arm and a leg to not call you back in 2 montha, but is willing to take your money. Not at all professional and dresses like he is a high school teacher,. I thought your lawyer works for you. But not him he has his own agenda, and also asks for the bartering system
