Mark Carter was appointed as my granddaughters attorney. There are no words to express our disappointment in his services. My granddaughter was in tears on several occasions over her exasperation to want talk to him about what was happening and for him to help make things better for her. We were so let down by his engagement with her. She is intelligent and was ready to talk frankly about what had happened and he spent the time talking about toys and jokes and his experiences. She left his office crying. He used our valuable time discussing himself. It was beyond disappointing. He was her only link to being heard and he never listened to her when the circumstances were fresh and most needed his attention. The whole Child Protection system is broken. We absolutely could not believe how the things she experienced were not aggressively, swiftly and seriously considered and Mr. Carter was to be her voice. He failed us. He has continued to avoid and not return calls. Fortunately, things have somewhat improved for my granddaughter, however, the critical time of intense need was missed and she is left to process the scars left in her heart. If he is not going to do his job as an ad litem, he needs to be withdrawn from the system.

Mr. Carter was appointed as the ad litem for my children and I was extremely disappointed in his work. He rarely returned any emails or messages, did not contact a single reference that he personally asked me to provide, nor did he contact the children's court appointed psychologist. He met my children on only two occasions for a total of approximately two hours. In court, he did not voice a single thing concerning the best interest of my children and sided with a mother who has never been a consistent participant in my children's lives since their adoption and who actually moved over 100 miles away from her children within one year of their adoptions. Mr. Carter has taken two children with specific medical diagnoses and without taking the time to understand their situation recommended and placed them them in a very unhealthy situation. Mr. Carter is an exemplary representation of a broken justice system and the epitome of incompetence.

Mark Carter should never be allowed to represent another child as an Ad litem.

Mark Carter did absolutely nothing that he said he was going to do. He made an opinion based on nothing. Because thats exactly what he did was nothing. He waited until the very last day to even voice an opinion on the situation.

In the whole year long process he made three visits. One visit with each person. Myself, my daughter and the EX.

Never once visited myself in the presence of my daughter. Never once visited in the presence on the EX and my daughter. He never did anything.

He wouldn't return any emails or phone calls. Nor would he do anything an ad litem should do period.

The system completely failed due to Mark Carter not doing his duties as an Ad Litem.

I wouldn't avoid using Mark Carter as an Ad litem at all costs. I will also be sending this to the ad litem program as well.
