They were the law firm that was selected for closing when we sold our house in South Carolina. If I had been the person that hired them, I would have fired them long before closing. We told them we did not want our social security and other private information sent via e-mail and we would give them the information over the phone. They proceeded to send the documents with our SSNs and all our other personal information via e-mail to us, the others in the law firm, our real estate agent, and even her assistant. Absolutely no regard for protection of our information or the wishes we expressed to them. They spelled Los Angeles wrong throughout the legal documents. When I pointed this out they said it wasn't a problem. I guess I am just picky thinking the name of the second largest city in the United States should be spelled correctly in legal documents. In the papers that needed to be notarized, they crossed out South Carolina and wrote in California. The notary here would not accept that for obvious reasons. They made no preparations for how we would actually get the proceeds from selling our house. I had to call them up and ask them what they were going to do the day of closing. This was by far the most unprofessional legal service I have ever received. I would advise anyone thinking of using this law firm to look elsewhere.

Great team. Professional and courteous. Strongly recommend.
JJ did an amazing job going to bat for us on our liquor license at Fork and Plough. We had been denied twice by the state and he fought for us and got the job done!

Erin was a delight to work with on a recent refinance and an acquisition, all rolled into one deal.
She's a pro and I hope we get to work with her again soon.

We do several real estate closings per month and for a similar type closing, we generally pay about $800 for attorney related costs. This attorney charged ~$1,500 for this closing with charges I have never seen on any other of my 100+ real estate closing HUD statements. It took JJ at least three times to get the promissory note correct as he kept using other people's names, wrong address and terms. The lender became frustrated having to review and correct several times. Somehow JJ must feel that the client should pay for his inabilities. There are many good real estate attorneys in Greenville, this is definitely not one of them. I encourage you to call a couple of attorneys and ask for their average closing costs and ask friends for a competent one that did them right.
