After taking on the responsibility of taking care of my aging Mother [who was suffering from the ill effects of dementia], I quickly began to experience extreme financial difficulties. After careful consideration and weighing all options, I made the decision to file a Chapter 13 BK in 2013. I began researching to determine who will represent me through this process as I had mixed emotions and thoughts about having to file and ruin my credit. I narrowed my selection down to (3) BK Attorneys after reading reviews and other online information.

I’ve read all the other reviews here and that led me to Matt. Matt is a very capabale attorney, but through my experience going by through ch.13 bankruptcy, my experience has been mixed.

As far as filing and expediency, he’s very qualified and one thing you can count on is that your paperwork will be sent and completed when you file. So if you’re case I straight forward, he’s a good guy to work with. As I’ve come to learn, filing bankruptcy is a mill of paperwork and getting that right is the hardest part.

However, if you have a complicated case, or you are actually looking for guidance to deal with complex financial situations, don’t expect a whole lot. You should expect one sentence responses to everything, even when you ask a question about what options exist. You should also expect to either write or record everything as he will at times either ignore or forget an issue that we discussed in advance.

I understand there are limitations to what a BK attorney can do, and perhaps that was my mistake in the first place - thinking there was an option for me. In any event, my case is dismissed now and I’ll have to find another way forward. Hopefully if you read this, you’re experience will be different.

I reached a point in my life where my limited income could barely keep up with my monthly bills, and then came a wage garnishment by a previous creditor through the courts. I didn't have enough money to pay my child support and health insurance for my son after the garnishment. I tried to work out a deal on my own with the creditor but they wanted the full amount owed(which I didn't have) before doing anything to help me. I had a pleasant experience with Mr. Cherney. Initially, I was afraid of filing bankruptcy because I did not know what to expect. I have heard horror stories and fallacy’s about the bankruptcy process. Mr. Cherney was readily available whenever I needed him, whether by email or phone. I filled bankruptcy because of my long-term unemployment and could not afford to pay my creditors; therefore, I had little to no money to even file. Mr. Cherney assessed my situation and offered some payment options that worked best for me. The process was stress-free. I provided Mr. Cherney with all of the required information and although the questions do seem to be very personal, Mr. Cherney eagerly explains the reason that each piece of information is required.
