Told me they are very particular about what cases they accept and turned me away, even though I have already had SSDI for sickle cell anemia. I guess if its not an automatic win, they don't want it. Going back to Levan & Neidenberg, real lawyers whom are not scared to fight to get paid. And to think, I only chose Burgess because I wanted to support my own in collective economics.

My daughter used Anjel Burgess for a disability claim. She has been sick with bi-polar disease for over 12 years & has struggled to take care of her son & to try to work. With changes in medication constantly & severe anxiety problems this has resulted in 15 jobs over the last 10 years & being fired from every one of them because of attendance problems. We waited almost 3 years for a court date & were turned down. We feel the attorney did not try hard enough & did not prepare my daughter enough to say the right things in court. Now, she has NO chance of ever getting disability & will end up on welfare, medicaid & food stamps. This practice did not seem to work hard enough for my daughter. PLENTY of bi-polar people are on disability because it is a terrible mental disease. We had medical records to back the claim, but were let down by social security
& lawyers. We have never asked the government for a thing & my husband & myself have worked hard in this country for over 50 years each, paying into the system. "liberty & justice for all", what a lie!

This is a law firm that is assisting me with my disability claim. Although I called them 2 weeks ago, there is still nothing as far as updates are concerned in regards to my case. My interactions with them haven't been frequent enough to warrant a full review or anything better than 3 stars.

Very good people they did not bog me down with a bunch of phone calls they did however take all my calls and kept me in the loop on the progress of my case she did everything right even when my case was looking sketchy she pressed on with a very professional attitude thank you very much

This place was the worst!! I called them about taking my daughter's disability case went down yo the office and drop my paperwork off never heard back from them I never talk to a lawyer. It took almost two weeks for someone to get with me after I called come to find out they didn't take my case and misplaced all of my daughter's paper work and medical CD They sent it to an address that I never gave them. It was just a mess!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone very unprofessional.

Outstanding staff, organized office. The exhaustive and seemingly endless journey through the Social Security maze to the final destination before the Administrative Law Judge was made bearable with the staff and culminated with Attorney Burgess presenting. She assisted in achieving our fully favorable outcome and I highly recommend this office. Please remember, although they will gently check on your case from time to time, NO attorney can control the pace of the SSA.

Anjel Burgess was my Attorney representing me after having be turned down by SSD once, and a second time on appeal. I was refered to her by a very good Attorney I know who does not handle disability cases. When I went to the office with all my records and denial paperwork from SSD, Anjel looked over everything and said she honestly did not understand why I was denied. She said because I had waited so long in seeking them, they couldn't appeal my last denial, we would have to start it as a brand new filing. It took almost 2 years from the time I met her, but when we went to court she had everything lined up. Not ONLY did I win my case, the Judge chose to link it to my prior case so my Medicare was instantly available. The office was great at communicating, keeping me up to date, and reassuring me when I would get stressed or worried at how long things were taking. The best part about working with them is if you don't win, they don't get paid. So it's a win/win for all.

I never had the experience of having this firm represent my son in a social security case--I couldn't get past the negative attitudes of the front desk personnel. Although I had a VERY strong case with ample evidence for my special needs son, apparently, the ladies at the front desk are the "gatekeepers" and are well-versed in law enough to ARGUE the case with me. I never got to speak to the actual attorney as she was "busy", but just the "vibe" alone of those that answer the phone were enough of a red flag for me. No worries...the very next attorney that I came across was only too delighted to take the case...her first comment? "You have a very strong case." I dodged a bullet.

In my opinion - Anjel Burgess is THE most incompetent lawyer around. She didn't present half my case to the judge during my hearing, she wasn't aware of most my case during our discussions, and she kept telling me during our phone call (which she was 45 minutes late for - and 30 minutes late for my hearing) "If you're not happy call another law firm". WHO SAYS THAT TO A CLIENT?!?! She will be reported every way possible, and even though they will take this down, it will be posted everywhere - including the EEOC and Bar office. This isn't done by A LONG SHOT, you inept zoology major. Does your firm know how much money you're losing by this incompetent, inept, unprofessional, arrogant lady?!
