This was the worst lawyer service EVER!! For $2,000.00 lawyer ann Shaffer never showed up to ANY of my court dates nor did her representative, NEVER! One of the reasons there were so many court dates is because, ann never showed up to court to represent me. She justified the payment for very few phone calls of a few minutes of phone conversations and very few short meetings, where no resolution was EVER made! Once she didn't tell me nor the judge, she was not going to make it to (one of the never showing up), court date, where I had to rent a car and drive one and a half hours to court. She didn't even apologize, just stated she had another client's court date that preceded over mine. (Which was ALWAYS her excuse!) Then she told me I needed to pay a couple more thousand dollars, I'm like FOR WHAT, you haven't done anything? I refused to give more money without receiving any out-put from her, regarding my case. She refused to continue representing me, but never relayed that to the court/ judge. When my divorce became finalized, they sent my paperwork to ann Shaffer's office and she and her assistant had the nerve to open my letter... that's got to be some type of crime, but this lady knows how to beat the system and the people she so-call represent, but just take their money! She sent a note saying, congratulations you got some alimony. I hope she know it was due to: ABSOLUTELY NO HELP FROM HER, NONE! If she would be truly honest with herself, she KNOW, SHE SHOULD GIVE ME MY $2000.00 BACK!! I feel this lady just took my money for nothing in return!! When I tried reporting her, she made up this invoice of phone calls and meetings, trying to justify $2,000.00 of work. She got me good, because I didn't have the money for another lawyer to sew her! This was in 2012, but she's still probably doing a good job of taking people's money with putting-out nearly NO WORK in their divorce cases as she did me!! Hopefully this DOESN'T HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!

Mrs. Shafer was just about the retainer, after receiving it she was horrible. I hear her husband was great, but she is no real substitute. Do not hire.
