E. Jones & Associates was recommended to me by a coworker. Initially everything was great. As the case prolonged communication was horrible. You have to go through hell and high water to even get a response back! Well she did win the case, but the parenting plan was done incorrectly so now we have to deal with more drama and can’t get this resolved because NO ONE can get in touch with Mrs. Coleman. It’s truly sad that this isn’t over and done with because of the neglect of thoroughness. It’s one thing when you just make a mistake. It’s another thing when you won’t and can’t be reached to fix it. All of this could’ve been avoided. If you want a lawyer that keeps communication throughout your case this is not the one for you. Since there’s no more exchange of money I assume she doesn’t feel the need to correct the issue. Don’t believe the hype with seeing the 5 ⭐️. I would be generous and give a 1⭐️ because she won the case.

I have had Atty E Coleman-Jones working on various family law matters for me over the past four years. She handled my divorce and was very thorough compassionate and reasonable with her services. My ex Mr. R. Rucker is very difficult and unstable. She handled everything in a timely manner and when I was feeling vulnerable, threatened and scared due to his mental illness and drugs, she took action and filed all the necessary paperwork to protect me and my sons. Periodically due to the drugs and mental illness over the few years he will contact local attorneys, he will email threats and rant and threaten to take action against me and I will have to call her to look into what he’s trying to do and there have been times she has not even charged me. My case is a pretty difficult situation to handle but she takes care of what needs to be done!! I have read all of the reviews on here and I can honestly say that she has made my life a lot easier and has made me feel SAFE with everything that she done and has filed in the Courts. I have literally NEVER written a review for any service or product before, but my conscience would not let me rest if I did not share the HELL of an experience I had working with Ellaretha Coleman-Jones and the absolute disaster she made of my case.

Please note - the reviews by Raymond Jones and Stephanie Dixon are from a family or friend of hers - he was a groomsman in her wedding and she was a bridesmaid. I was going to share a screenshot of her wedding site here, but thought that may have crossed the line too much into her personal business, so feel free to Google that yourself. However, here are some of the highlights from my personal experience:
1. Ellaretha Coleman-Jones is not knowledgable of family law. When I hired a new lawyer - after wasting over $4000 with Ellaretha Coleman-Jones , my new lawyer reviewed the existing documents of my case and immediately said - Wow! Your husband's lawyer really locked you into a lose lose situation (referencing the wording of the documentation, which was so weak and ambiguous, it granted me minimally binding rights to any of the issues it was supposed to have covered.) After my new lawyer investigated the docs more closely and contacted my ex-husband's lawyer, it was discovered that Ellaretha Coleman-Jones actually drafted the documents herself. She literally checkmated me, before his lawyer even needed to put up a fight.

2. Neither she nor her staff will return calls (I have attached photos of only 2 of the email communication pieces I had to have with her - highlighting her absolute absence from my case. In fact, you'll notice I had to do my own research and bring matters to her to try an be minimally prepared.

3. Ellaretha Coleman-Jones is always unavailable taking a vacation or "attending a conference".

4. Ellaretha Coleman-Jones showed up to one of my status update conferences after not talking to me for over a month. I went to the conference totally prepared and expecting to represent myself. When I saw her, I totally broke down because I was so livid and disgusted by her audacity to even show up after COMPLETELY and INTENTIONALLY neglecting all prior communication from me, and she had the nerve to tell me I should "trust her".

5. Ellaretha Coleman-Jones did not provide one single invoice. She will collect retainer feed (which is the only time someone from her office will initiate communication) and provide absolutely zero documentation of how that money is being spent.

My list of egregious negligence on her part is too lengthy to list here. I am open and willing to talk with anyone considering her to answer any questions you may have regarding my experience as a client.

Process servers do accept work from this law firm. We rendered service for them back in December and have not been paid. We were told over 2 weeks ago that payment was sent out and we still have not received payment. I have left several messages and emails with the firm and they have not responded.

Our corporation rendered service for this company and we have not been paid . Services was rendered in December 2017.

Most everything that happen to me has already been said in other reviews. I was amazed at the first hearing I went to with her, It was the wrong hearing and she was completely unprepared.
But that is where she scheduled my divorce final. Prior to the final, I expressed my concerns that she did not send the discovery subpoenas, or do anything that would help my case. After trying to contact her for a month. She said she had it covers. Good thing when she did not schedule the hearing properly. The hearing she scheduled was not even on the calendar.

Attorney Coleman is an outstanding attorney with lots of experience in my subject matters. She helped me achieve all of my goals with my divorce to include winning custody of my four year old daughter! If it is possible to win your case Attorney Coleman is the attorney you should want on your team. My family is very pleased with her services.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE PAYING YOUR MONEY TO THEM. I am currently a client for them, and they have made this already difficult time in my life even more difficult.

They may be professional and assertive in the beginning, but as soon as you pay your money everything goes out the window. I’ve left multiple messages and voicemails, but they never get back to me.

My mediation date has been pushed back not once but twice because Attorney Coleman had to all of a sudden go into court for another client... my initial mediation date was scheduled for the middle of February... it’s now the middle of April and she hasn’t said a word about rescheduling it.

And their little MyCase electronic file they set you up with.... They don’t keep up with it at all... they haven’t responded to anything I said or posted anything on there... it’s really a joke.

The most frustrating thing about this firm though is the lack of communication between the paralegals and Attorney Coleman. In my case, we were supposed to get the counties switched from Newton to Dekalb. She told me in December that she was going to do that in January... I could never get in touch with her to confirm if she did it or not. January 28th rolls around and the paralegal at the time (Four different paralegals has worked my case btw) tells me to get all of these documents SHE JUST SENT ME together in two weeks when the documents had a date of January 10th. Why did it take them 18 days to send me these documents and then tell me to get it done in two weeks is beyond me... going back to the documents though... they said Newton County on them when I was supposed to get the transfer in the beginning of January ! Now going back to the communication between the paralegals and Attorney Coleman. It’s April 17th... I’ve been asking her paralegals to find this answer out for me for MONTHS ! It’s always “I don’t know, but I will certainly email Attorney Coleman and get back with you” except they never get back with you.

I just gave you multiple examples as why you shouldn’t choose them. If you’re going to spend your hard earned money anyway, please make sure it’s with a law firm that won’t force you to get another law firm to get your money back

All I can say is that the this lawfirm is the best has the best team the most understanding people and they will fight for you till the end!!!!

Working with this firm added more frustration and angst to an already stressful situation. Divorce is stressful enough so it was especially upsetting to have such a terrible experience with my attorney. Communication is seriously lacking, at times it took over a month to speak to her... this is after calling several times, leaving messages and emailing. Initially, she advised me that she would handle filing a judgement then 10 weeks later she tells me that her office does handle judgements. This information was definitely contrary to what was stated in our email correspondence but I didn’t even bother to press the situation as I just wanted to be done with this firm. However, given that filing the judgment was time sensitive I was especially perturbed with her delay in not filing it. I was so relieved when the process was over so that I would not have to deal with them or my ex anymore. My experience with E. Jones & Associates is that she over promises and under delivers. My expectations were not managed at all and things that I was told would be done wasn’t done. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to her and she’s absolutely not worth the retainer fee she charges.

Ms. Coleman is pathetic!!! She is undependable, lazy, and doesn't know her craft!! Atlanta obviously allows any loser to become an attorney!!! Walk away from this business!!!

I engaged Ellaretha (Jones) Coleman in 2013 for a divorce case. After I paid Ms. Jones, she promptly disappeared and would not return my calls. I had to pose as a new client in order to get her to call me back. When I finally succeeded in reaching her, nearly several months later, she hastily emailed me what was clearly a Microsoft Word divorce template that appears as if it had been found in an online search. The template was missing key information that Ms. Jones/Coleman and I had discussed in my initial consultation and was clearly not admissible in any court of law.

After exerting so much effort to get the services I paid for and wasting months of time in the process, I decided to give up and do it myself. This resulted in additional costs and inconvenience for me as I had to file my case on my own (pro se) and take care of all the custody arrangements.

I do not recommend this law firm, as I did not receive the services that I paid for and wasted time and money in the process.

I have had to consult with Attorney Jones on aspects of both insurance and Georgia divorce and family law. I have also personally referred a business client to her to negotiate a contract dispute with her employer; Attorney Jones handled the matter quickly, and professionally. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and is an overall great attorney

The team at E. Jones & Associates made my divorce and family transition smooth. They moved my case to completion quickly and painlessly.

I literally did everything by myself. I've only spoken to E jones a handful of times. E jones and associates is really just her associates she fires and hires new ppl every month. So you have to re explain your case because she doesn't brief them about her clients. I finally finished the process and sent in my paperwork and now they changed locations without notifying me. My paperwork is lost and they were all originals so I'd have to start the process all over again if they can't find them which they aren't even attempting to do. I call the office every week and they just ask if I can leave a message. Very unorganized I could've done this whole process myself and saved 3,700 dollars needless to say I would never recommend.

Very unprofessional...Attorney Coleman is not experienced in divorce cases and isnt knowledgeable at all...She absolutely does not care about men's rights and will work with the other party in their best interest...walk into her office and their isn't anything advising men on steps to follow when going through a divorce but there is a brochure for women... Attorney coleman completely ruined my divorce case and nothing went my way at all but she made promises to me before she took all of my money..I strongly recommend that a person pay close attention to the negative comments because I ignored them and wasted thousands of hard earned money...if I could explain my entire case on here to help prevent someone from wasting time and money retaining this attorney I would but im going to do it the legal way...DO YOUR RESEARCH!

If I could rate E. JONES and Associates as a NEGATIVE 10, I would!! Attorney Coleman is by far the most unprofessional and uninvolved attorney I have ever had to represent me. If you have a day or two to research a Family Law attorney in GA, please run to them IMMEDIATELY!! Dealing with a Family Law case, will always have twists and turns when emotions get involved and seeking legal counsel during that time to speak with to guide you through producing documents or other facets of the litigation process can be very overwhelming to say the least.

We did everything we could to resolve the case at mediation, but my children's father was beyond unreasonable. When it came time for trial she took all the worry away. We were prepared for war.
