Down on my luck in 2015 and this place took total advantage of me and ignored all my requests to refund my 10k retainer when I fired them for mixing me up with another client, taking money from my trust account without providing statements that justified the charges and not returning my phone calls.
I had to file a complaint with the state bar and wait quite some time before Mr. Maasen refunded what was left of my retainer with a statement of his services and charges that I felt we’re way to much for the small amount of work he performed for my case.
I found out after doing a little research with the state bar that Mr. Maasen had several complaints around the time that I hired him and he had in fact been placed on probation for not handling trust accounts and some cases properly and to my surprise he even popped up in the local news shortly there after and was being indicted for bankruptcy fraud, suspended from practicing law and was ultimately sentenced to 18 months in federal prison starting in January 2019 for his crimes.
It is my opinion that anybody who hired this guy between late 2015 and late 2018 should be given a full refund because this guy obviously had way to many problems of his own to be dealing with ours.

Select an attorney that is not charged with bankruptcy fraud and already found guilty of numerous ethical violations. He will take your money and lie.

He Stole $3500 from me. He said he needed $7000 retainer. Thank god I talked them down to $3500. So I paid it to speed the process up and had never met him or signed any paperwork. Then he did nothing. I mean nothing. I tried stopped by by his office random, numerous phone calls, emails. Still nothing. Asked for my money back and still nothing. Worst person ever karma will get him.

Scott Maasen and his partners are excellent attorneys who know the best way to fight your DUI. I know many people who have used them and all have had excellent results. Definitely use them if you are in the unfortunate position of having to fight a DUI in the Scottsdale or Phoenix area.

I had a wonderful experience with the Maasen Law firm. I to was initially interviewed by Scott Maasen but ended up being represented by Jefferson Simmons, who did an outstanding job. I had multiple charges and was facing years in prison. The hard work and dedication put forth by the employees at Maasen law firm was remarkable. Every time I called or e-mailed they responded in a timely manner even if it was after hours. I ended up pleating to much lesser charges and only had to serve a total of 60 days. Mr. Maasens Law Firm charged me 7,500.00 to defend me for less than a half ounce of fake marijuana. I asked Mr.Maasen to tell them to test it, he didn't..he didn't want to be bothered with it at all. The officer cuffed me and left me in the back of his police cruiser for an hour in 100 degree plus heat. He did not even read me Miranda rights. Mr.Maasen did not do A THING for me. It has been more than a year and I still cant get over the $9,100.00 loss. $7500 for him and $200.00 a class for someone to tell me the horrible effects of weed. $200.00 an hour for 8 hrs. He did nothing in my behalf. There is not a rug big enough to sweep this mistake under. This is very hard to get over..lotta money gone. I had to register one star to post this..otherwise they should replace the star with something else. Mr Maasen wasn't even the lawyer I had. He passed me to someone else. I had to tell them what happened over and over. Nothing was done.

Without a doubt, I would NOT have gotten my DUI discharged if I hadn't hired the Maasen Law Firm!! I called them FIRST, and it was the ONLY call I needed to make.
