My oldest brother passed away suddenly and left no will. His next of kin is his two eldest daughters, he had a close relationship with his first daughter but lost contact with his second one. We tried everything to get ahold of her, not only to tell her of her dad’s passing but also that we needed her authorization to cremate him. The mortuary would not cremate him until we talked to her, and until we got contact with her, his body just sat at the morgue.
After two weeks, the employee in charge at the mortuary asked us to file an Ex Parte with probate court. We went to the courts but were given a hard time because the court didn’t understand what we were asking for and why we needed this filed. After so many questions and conversations, the court agreed to file the document. However, they told our family it would cost over $400 AND there was still no guarantee that the judge would sign it.
Finally after 3 weeks of going back and forth with the courts and the mortuary, we contacted the Law Offices of Kapesh Patel in hopes that he could help us. And I wish we could of contacted him a lot sooner (like 3 weeks sooner!).
We explained to Mr.Patel our situation and he got straight to work. Within a couple of days Mr. Patel called our family and asked if we could contact the mortuary & ask if they would accept a notarized letter. The mortuary agreed, my niece got the letter notarized, and my brother was finally cremated.
If it wasn’t for Mr. Patel stepping in and researching the laws on cremation and next of kin, we most likely would still be in a battle with the courts.

To be blunt, I was facing 7 years behind bars, Kapesh got me 364 days and prevented me from getting an “Aggravated Felony”, which in immigration is fatal, no hope, deportation for life. I couldn’t believe he pulled it off!

Now, I was facing immigration court, and I am in detention for immigration. Knowing my chances were very slim, KP being sincere and honest, still told me I will keep fighting for you and I will not leave your side. I had the serious crimes following me, but in a bond hearing, he was able to convince the judge to release me, it was not easy.

And 5 years after my conviction in criminal court and 3.5 years after my immigration case started, God gave hope and good blessings today at immigration court. My ordeal has pretty much ended, and He (God) has given me Kapesh - a lawyer who has stood by my side through the good and bad.

To give backstory, my legal battle began in August 2018. I was referred to Mr. Patel through Bryan Wong, another outstanding attorney, who felt Mr. Patel would be able to attend to my case appropriately. Upon meeting Mr. Patel, I was struck by his candor and confidence that we could get the desired outcome for my case: dismissal. Mr. Patel attended court with me 8 times in a 14-month period, working each time to talk with the District Attorney to handle my case appropriately. I had a license on the line that would be revoked if I were to be convicted, which would have effectively ended my career. Mr. Patel did not give up until a viable option that would save my career was presented before us.

Eventually, through Mr. Patel’s hard work and dedication, the District Attorney agreed to let me enter the DEJ program (Deferred Entry of Judgment), which required me to take a course, stay out of legal trouble for a period of time, and give up some of my constitutional rights temporarily. Upon successful completion of these requirements, I would have no charges against me, I could keep my license and not report anything to the licensing board, and my case would be dismissed. I am happy to say that as of today, my case is dismissed and I am free and clear!

I am eternally grateful to Mr. Patel for his guidance, patience, and commitment to get me out of this legal hole with no adverse effects to my career. He heard my concerns and saw my pain and embarrassment from day one, and worked hard on my case for over a year to get the desired results.

After going through the process in hind-sight. We could have easily done the process by ourselves. We had a straight forward case. When we came to Mr. Patel he told us that he would be prep us for the interview via in-person mock interview and also be at our interview. He provided us the application which we filled out and there were things that we didn't know how to fill in and we expected Mr. Patel and his team to screen and make sure everything was ready for the process. When it came time to review the application with Mr. Patel and his team. We naturally assumed that everything was filled out free of errors and we signed. We obviously had questions and felt that his responses are adequate at the time.

When our interview date was scheduled Mr. Patel would only prep us over the phone and it was very difficult to get hold of him. But when pressured he would respond. This is not what we expected but we expected a scheduled in-person mock interview with him. During the phone prep for interview he said he would not be appearing with us in our interview.

On the day of our interview the interviewing officer basically said that because we have a lawyer that submitted our paper work that they needed to be present or we cannot do the interview. The officer then gave us the option to sign a waiver removing the lawyer and then we could do the interview.

During the interview the interviewing officer pointed our several errors on the application and as we are looking at it we realized that is our application which we filled out and not one revised by the lawyer. This caused a month in delay for the approval decision.

We understand that delays would normally happen and revisions to applications can be made. But we feel like the application could have been filled out more professionally and screened better as the interview officer did.

I would have been for Mr. Patel to have attended the interview so that he could catch his mistakes and do better for future clients. But when we pointed this out to him he just ignored it and said this was normal.

We would have probably given him 3 stars but we felt he is undeserving because of the errors in application that could have easily been avoided and his attitude towards us after we pointed out some of the things that were mentioned above for him to be better. We expected better for a paid service!

Kapesh Patel overall did an incredible job on my EB1A case. It came back very quickly with an approval after being submitted. He would not allow me to submit until everything was absolutely perfect. He did an extremely thorough job checking then double checking and triple checking that all documents had been included, everything on the check list was up to date and complete and that we were not missing vital information. I could have also submitted without a few extra things but he wanted to ensure the best result for myself and so things went smoothly and encouraged me to work on the final things. He was fast at responding and also very flexible to work and deal with. An EB1A can only be approved with a lawyer who knows what they are doing and has vast knowledge on US immigration. It is an absolute pleasure to write a letter of review on services provided by Mr. Kapesh Patel whom I reached out to after getting a 3rd DUI with a violation of probation on the 2nd one within a 10 year period.
I have known Mr. Patel (KP) for a couple of years now and can confidentially say that his clients are his number one priority and he’ll take every step necessary to protect them. Quite simply put - He is that “Go to” lawyer if you are willing to cooperate and take the corrective steps necessary. When I approached KP with my DUI / Violation of probation case I was at a low point fearing a long tenure in jail. I was done with drinking and was hoping I could get away considerably lightly in terms of punishment this one last time.
I met with KP and he told me that if I was serious on quitting drinking I should start voluntarily attending AA & make my own attendance sheet. He took time to walk me through the position I had put myself in and was willing to go to battle for me. To me the most important thing was to keep my job. As a lawyer he wasn’t in a position to promise me anything but did ensure me that he would do everything possible to make that happen. This made me feel a little better about the situation and showed that I wasn’t just a statistic or a number to KP.
I lived up to my end of the deal by attending meetings, associating myself with AA and getting personal and professional reference letters. After close to an year of working my case, going to court multiple times on my behalf, getting the DA changed when progress was not being made, he got me a job saving deal where I had to take only 3 weeks off of work to do a relatively very small stint in jail followed by a few months of SCRAM alcohol monitoring ankle bracelet.
To top it all off, this being something very unique that I experienced having dealt with lawyers in the past, a week after post sentencing he made a follow up call to check in and make sure I was on top of things and whether he could be of any help or guidance. Mr. Patel is an excellent lawyer, very knowledgeable of how things work and very importantly treats his clients like he is going to battle for a member of his own family. I recommend him to anyone who finds themselves in a tough position and willing to work with an attorney to come to a reasonable solution that won’t be too taxing on themselves.

KP!!! What a great guy to work with! I was born and raised in the US, Mojave desert to be exact, and married an Ethiopian woman after meeting her of all places on Tinder! LOL I recently turned 43 year old and never married before this but luckily for me, God had a master plan for my life. I just had to be patient. My wife is the best thing that ever happened to me. After we got married it only took 9 months to get her Green card because of Kapesh's tireless effort and never say die attitude. He guided us through the entire process. I engaged Kapesh V Patel to represent my wife and I in an immigration based matter for my greencard.
KP was super responsive throughout the whole process and would get generally back to me within 24 hours. From our first meeting with KP we felt right at ease - he was easy to talk to and clearly knowledgeable on the subject.
KP gave us a list of everything we needed to compile and we got to it. We had a fairly complicated application due to multiple financial sponsors, which KP managed with ease.
