I purchased a property without having had the proper due diligence performed to inspect its condition. So when numerous problems were revealed, I didn’t want the property. I was, I think, realistic—I didn’t expect anything back, but I was hoping just to recover some money, if I could. Lance initiated a rescission of the purchase transaction, so that the property went back to the seller and I got a lot of my money back. There were quite a few documents to make it all legal. The legal expense, however, was surprisingly low. I couldn’t believe that Lance had persuaded the other side to take back the property and pay me for the privilege! Even my siblings were surprised.
