Unprofessional, very low standards and has been disciplined by state bar of Arizona. Not sure how thus guy has been able to keep his law license after all the egregious attorney misconduct and failure to conduct himself as a professional.

Excellent representation and preparedness! Mr. Velez returned my initial phone inquiry the same day and after his normal business hours. He was so kind and understanding by providing me reassurance and comfort regarding my situation. With short notice and days before a holiday break, he made more than enough time for my consultation, and with two sessions of preparation before the hearing. Mr. Velez himself was very well prepared and enthusiastic about my case. He provided me with encouragement and confidence throughout the entire process. The day of my hearing went better than I could have imagined! Hiring Mr. Velez was the best investment! I highly recommend Mr. Velez!

I had hired Mr Velez after I was fired from a position and company I worked at for over 10 years. I had a contract yet this new supervisor seemed to think he still had the right to fire me. I called the attorney who handled my mother’s estate and she referred me to Mr Velez. I had also been referred to another employment lawyer in Phoenix. I called both lawyers on the day I was fired, which was a Friday, on Friday evening Mr Velez called me back and we set an appointment up for the next day. The other attorney still hasn’t called me back. There was a consultation fee, which he did tell me about, so no surprises there. My 1hr consult lasted closer to two hours yet there wasn’t an additional charge. Mr Velez asked many questions about my position, and reviewed the contract. He explained my options and to my surprise one of the options he explained was a way I could go forward without hiring him! That was something I didn’t expect. I did hire him because he seemed to know exactly what he was talking about and I felt extremely comfortable with the plan of action we agreed to. When making my next appointment he did request that I bring my wife. He explained that in some cases the track to a settlement is not quick and he’d like to make sure any questions she had were answered up front. I couldn’t have asked for a better attorney. Joseph answered every phone call and updated me through emails regularly. I have never had to pay for a lawyer before and at first the cost worried me and I made Mr Velez understand that. He was very understanding and told me to think things over carefully and call him if I decided to go forward. I am very glad I did. My former employer was very sorry when all was said and done. Thanks Joseph.

Spoke to him on the phone, was very dry, did not want to talk about issue at all unless I made an appointment at $350 per hour and was condicendent to the questions I asked. Even if I had the money I would not go to this guy

I was trying to set up a consultation. I advised that I had reached out to 3 other law firms and paid the consultation fees totaling over $700. Joseph told me that he knewthe other firms and all but called me a liar before he disconnected the call. Not a fruitful conversation, and not very professional

Extremely unprofessional. The most repulsive human being I have ever came across. State Bar of Arizona suspended his license for three months and put him on two years probation for violation of his duties and obligations as a lawyer. Too many violations to list here. One was for overdraft from his Bank where Velez had his client trust account. It was found that Velez routinely deposited all monies received from clients into his trust account regardless of whether the funds were
earned and he deposited personal funds into
the trust account on several occasions. Velez failed to maintain complete trust account records for a period of five years and did not maintain individual client ledgers or the equivalent. Joseph Velez failed to record all transactions promptly and completely, failed
to perform monthly reconciliations of the trust account and failed to consistently disburse from his trust account with only prenumbered checks. Mr. Velez also failed to properly safeguard client funds that resulted in negligent conversion of those funds

I don’t ever write a review But who’s ever thinking about using this guy think twice. He wouldn’t even help us with out a $3500 deposit. He extremely rude when we said we could not afford it he basically told us we no longer had an attorney but we had given him 525 before and all he did was talk to the student loan company under his breath so my Husban could not Hear asked for paperwork that’s in our court case saying that they had no proof of. So don’t waste your money on this guy. Run the opposite direction. So unprofessional. If I could give be a 0 star I would.

Mr. Velez, helped us negotiate and review our lease contract for our new dental office. He is very thorough and thoughtful. Mr Velez reviewed the entire contract with me patiently. There were critical "surprises" in the contract that could have landed us in trouble if Mr. Velez had not spotted them. Commercial lease contracts are written in a language laypeople cannot understand. I'm very thankful I got help from Mr. Velez.

I called Mr. Velez for a possible consultation, mr. velez himself answered the phone and was rather curt when I was trying to explain why I was calling and said I should make an appointment and informed me that it would be a $295.00 fee to consult me over an unemployment issue, I was quite shocked at the amount. I tried to explain that I had another attorney that wouldn't charge a fee for an initial consultation and at that Mr. Velez felt it neccesary to start questioning me about why then I was calling him, when I replied that a second opinion is always a good idea is it not, that is when Mr. Velez informed that he was with a client and hung up. I found his candor rather apalling as he was the one to answer the phone while he was with a client as well his argumentative demeanor, as an attorney should be argumentative in court but not with a prospective client and at @ $295.00 to consult intially why was he answering the phone while with a client, seems like Mr Velez is in dire need of cleints, money and a secretary, Good Luck in your practice Mr. Velez, looks like you are in need.
