Stephanie Lake is the absolute worst lawyer you could have represent you. My mentally disabled uncle hired her and Joe to represent him to get social security disability. They were difficult to get in touch with and DID NOT take his case seriously. She lied about what my uncle said to social security to try to cover her and Joe's own incompetence when social security rejected his claim and was asked to appeal. These people are HURTING families. How did these people pass BAR exams?! I hope they go out of business!

I just spoke with a secretary at this lawyer's office (after being referred to Stephanie Lake by my doctor). The secretary was very polite on the phone and acted as though she was concerned for my well being and personal struggles. She proceeded to ask me a few questions and then turned me down without providing me any explanation whatsoever nor providing me with any referrals to other lawyers who might possibly be able to assist me in my time of need. I most definitely do not recommend this law office because of the superficiality of their staff... if the secretary answering the phone is so blatantly unhelpful and unwilling to provide meaningful assistance, what might the lawyer's assistance be like?

The Law Offices of Stephanie Lake are amazing. My mother used them in her disability case and she won her case. My mother then recommended them to me for my case. I got referred to this person by my mother. Called in cause I got back issues that disables me and was told by recieptionist since I’m not 50 or a minor she can’t transfer me to one of the other lawyers. This is age discrimination since I got proof for disability. I don’t recommend people go to them biggest discrimination ever.

This my second time I have used them and they have assisted me in many ways until I really needed them then I get a letter in the mail stating they are no longer going to represent me. I called to see why and plead my case about how I really need them and I received no answer!

They're very punctual if I ever have questions they're ready to answer on call I appreciate they're outstanding service I would recommend her law office to anybody I was recommended by a friend myself and very pleased

Called social security and she is no longer associated with them ive called and written letters to ss office and nothing. Called and left another message ..its lije dealing with my case all over again.

Stephanie Lake and her law office have always been very considerate kind and always helping out to give me the information I need. I'm not sure how to proceed or what to do but they are always reassuring and that is a great help when you need to know and to get through this time.

The law offices of Stephanie Lake has been very helpful with everything I needed to complete my case.

I was referred by a friend after an initial denial letter. They agreed to take my case. I turned in all of the paperwork in a timely manner. The staff was often very short with me. Upon my second denial they dropped my case and I was given no explanation. Not even the courtesy of a phone call. I was constantly calling in to see what was going on and if they needed anything from me. I just wish I had gone elsewhere so I would have been taken more seriously. Disappointed is an understatement.

I was referred to this law office by a friend. I must say this is my first time dealing with ssi/disability, as i have congestive heart failure and Im on a the Naational heart transplant list. My experience with this office was not a good one. The paperwork they said they intially mailed never showed up to my residence so i took all my medical records down to their office and completed the paperwork that was never recieved by me. They did not explain the process very well or gave me very much information. Just wait. I cant work so things are tough. I also had my cardiologist complete their paper wirk a medical survet to which cost me $75 to get it completed for them. I got a denial from ssi as usual. I sent it to them. The next i get is a letter stating they are not representing me or my case via regular mail. They couldnt call me? They gave no reason as to why they dropped my case. I have sent emails to them and phone calls, that have been ignored and never returned. They gave me ni reason and no other options. They obviously dont care about the well being of their clients which they demonstrated. I would not reccommend them and i actually think they are to busy, too many cases to be able to help and give the individuals and their cases the attention it needs and deserves. Completely unprofessional. Thank you

Great disability Lawyer!

I was never able to get a clear answer from her, since I only spoke to hear twice before my hearing. When I was denied afterwards, they dropped me as a client without reason. I thought SSI lawyers were suppose to help win cases not just give up. Would not recommend her office to anyone

Stephany is attentive and has attention to detail. The only thing I wish would have happened is a run down of the questions she was gonna ask me before we went in to see the judge. Maybe she does that on purpose to get your emotions going in the court room. But, it all worked out in the end. I recommend her.

Excellent service, great communication and very nice people. I had hired another law firm that wasn't getting the job done, a friend recommended Stephanie Lake. When I contacted them they got right on the case and kept in constant contact with me.

This lady was so rude and though she help with my daughters case i thought I could expect more compassion. She got a attitude less than five minutes into our phone interview and then ask me what led up to my SMI and I told her I was wrongfully convicted in a domestic violence situation when I was the victim and lost my children and was still being abused and she told me that its not enough to make you SMI and she couldn’t take my case unless I did all the work by gathering documents . The world is so cold I can imagine if I ask her if that was her how would she have felt. My children were all I had.

If your going to seek assistance from this law office to get an attorney to win a case for disability, you might as well not call. If you don't pass the questions from the very loud receptionist they wont help you!!!!

Stephanie Lake is a rip-off! Do not use her as your attorney because she will steal all your money and not give two cents about it. I cannot get her to return my calls, I can not get her to give me a statement and or Ledger for my account, no information on her fees and just a general bad person.

Zero stars. Zero effort by Joseph Duerst. I never even met him until the day of the hearing. We met for about ten minutes prior to the hearing left feeling totally unprepared. I had panic attacks all day leading up to and including the hearing. Joseph did next to nothing to help guide me during the process. The front office staff works harder than the lawyers themselves. Be prepared to represent yourself in your hearing. I don't blame them for losing my case because panic disorder, depression, and anxiety aren't taken serious by the government, but they sure didn't help me to win.

They terminated their service with me because the case was unfavorable this case lasted 3 years I just appealed the case the day of my hearing the only thing JOSEPH said to me was, "we're only a few months apart" I guess age wise i was under the impression that he thought I was too young or he felt that he was wasting his time I do not know what he meant by that but it's all good thanks for the staff for being helpful they wished me good luck on improving my condition in the letter they sent

This process was very long for me and during the process it felt 10x longer. There were times when i found myself getting frustrated at the most minor things. I created more stress for myself that was even necessary.

The fact that me, Joe, (my representative) and the law office of Stephanie lake firm won my case and i am very grateful.

I know being the client or a family member heloing the client isn't easy fighting this long lasting battle can be stressful but let me say this at times i thought i was right and i made everything about me. Me me me me. When they didnt respond to me as quickly as i felt like they should i would get frustrated but now i understand that they just were working with me but with many other people. They really did a great job. I would definitely recommend this firm to fight your case.
