When i first met with Alan, like most I was very naive and Ignorant about the process. Still I declined to use him and thought i could get approved myself. But I didn't know what I didn't know, and that was all the intricacies of this entire process. Because of that, 16 months later i came back to Alan Schiffman, humbled and desperate because I hadn't worked in years, and I had just been declined. I remember vividly sitting in his conference room as he explained exactly the entire process, and my chances. When my day before the hearing commissioner arrived, timeframe and process was exactly how Alan predicted.

I can honestly say that immediately after walking out of the hearing Alan looked at me and said, "I have never told a client this right after a hearing but your getting approved." Since then Alan and his office have been more than helpful.

This Anna Schiffman attorney is terrible. I had to do all the running around with documentations etc.

I never had a coaching talk, or met her until we were with administrator judge. At the hearing she acted like a prosecutor than a defence attorney.

It took two plus years, of my life dealing with the case. I don't know about the other attorneys, but she is terrible.

It seems she never care about the case. When I explain my ordeal with other people with disability. Most of then would say to me that she probably didn't like you.

What a great group the Schiffman law Office has. They had been working on a SSID case for me since 2017. Alan Schiffman was great always kept me up to date on what was needed and when. His Paralegal Leslie Winkler was fantastic i do not think I ever waited more that 30 minutes to ever get a response from her when ever i had a question. I highly recommend their office for any issue you may have. Oh and by the way i did get a favorable decision.

Gave assistant all my information and was told Attorney named Lisa would call back. Followed up twice and was told someone would call me, never received call back. Waited three weeks and just gave up. If I could give less than one star I would.

Awful law firm worst one I've ever worked with and to top it all off. Even though it's in the contract that you don't pay them UNLESS THEY WIN YOUR CASE, they still tried asking the a request fee for their "time and services" when they did not do literally one thing to help me. I had a very caring, kind and giving attorney. I was in a three year battle with social security and on my third appeal when free legal aid found this law practice for me. We Won A Big Case Thanks To Javier Puig!

My son was gravely stricken from an injury he received at work. He was fighting for his life, and he had to undergo five operations within the first week of his hospitalization. I was by my son's side the entire time. Both night and day I was my son's patient advocate and the family representative, and let me tell you that it was the worst experience of my life watching my son suffer and not knowing if he would live or die. I now continually pray for all of the people and their families who have to experience such emotional and physical trauma. Needless to say, my son was in no condition to deal with any of the medical paperwork, insurance and associated legal matters. He was so hurt and so sick and he had such a bad infection. It was terrible. The entire family was so stressed and so tired out. We were all suffering from sleep deprivation.

To make matters worse, my son's employer abandoned him by claiming the accident didn't happen at work. Nobody will ever know how much that abandonment hurt my son. My son had faithfully worked for this very same giant transnational corporation for 10 years ever since he was 18 years old. It was like getting a knife in my son's back! And we badly needed help to make things right!

It's not easy to find good help. And I can tell you that Javier Puig was outstanding as both our legal counsel and representative. He handled our case beautifully. And this trial wasn't my first rodeo. I've had my own previous experience with corporate lawsuits --- big cases--- one of which went all the way up to a state supreme court. So I know a thing or two about a really good, articulate attorney when I see one in action. And the bottom line is Mr. Puig exceeded my expectations in every way. He undid the mess we made of the insurance paperwork and all of the incompetent mistakes my son made in the reporting process. Mr. Puig adroitly pleaded and advocated in a most effective manner what might have otherwise been an unwinnable case. Because of some of the honest but serious mistakes my family and I made we could have lost the case, but, instead, we WON our case in front of a judge. Not only did we win, but we won BIG. We got the best possible outcome --- including over a quarter of a million dollars of medical bills covered. And I can attribute all of the aforementioned to Mr. Puig's exceptional ability to articulate a legal case before a judge......

To anybody who is reading this because you or a loved one has suffered an accident: God's speed and may God be with you in your time of trouble. And please, for your own piece of mind, don't hesitate or wait another minute to find legal help. These insurance companies are ruthless, so find yourself a good attorney because you are going to need one. And if you're really lucky, you'll find a fighter like Mr. Puig.

So I had an appointment with Alan Schiffman today. figured I'd write a review for future seekers of disability lawyers in the area. I have to say I was more than pleased with the attention to detail and the knowledge pertaining to the disability system. Even informed me of a type of claim that I might qualify for because of when my injury was sustained. He went over everything and always asked if I was understanding, more than willing to explain further. He made me feel comfortable when I usually have anxiety issues in doctors and lawyers offices.

He's the kind of guy where he's not gonna try to just take your money. He going to try and find a way for you to get the benefits you deserve without his help. But when it comes to the point of necessity, he'll exhaust all options before he'll quit fighting for you. Ive had a couple bad experiences with Disability Lawyers where they just overlooked my claim completely and refused to help. Even had appointments canceled. Heck, when I came here, I was 30 mins early and he got to me within 10 mins pretty much. That might not always be possible, but when it is, he'll do it.

If you need the help, you at least owe it to yourself to have a sit down with him or his partners and see if need his services.

My wife needed help getting her S.S.D.I. approved. She was at her appeal stage where she needed to appear before a trial Judge. We picked Mr. Schiffman out of the blue, and we are sure lucky that we did. Mr. Schiffman took the time to listen to my wife regarding her medical, emotional and psychological issues regarding being forced to stop work at a job that she dearly loved performing. Mr. Schiffman agreed to take on her case. He walked us through the entire procedure including what information he would need. He also took time to prepare her for what might occur when she would testify before the Judge. Mr. Schiffman helped her every step of the way and never did he stop being her advocate. Mr. Schiffman was successful in getting my wife awarded her S.S.D.I.. Mr. Schiffman then took on the Long Term Disability Insurance provider who also had denied my wife. Mr. Schiffman was again successful in getting my wife awarded her L.T.D. benefit. He remains today our lawyer and whenever we have a need, he has been available to us at all hours of the day. He has even answered e-mail questions at 9:00 at night. Mr. Schiffman is the best !!!

I contacted the Schiffman Puig Law firm for assistance with a SS Disability claim. During my meeting with Mr. Alan Schiffman, he was able to straighten out the status of my claim with SS. In doing so he was able to make a reasonable determination that the reconsideration request with SS already submitted had been approved. Furthermore, Mr. Schiffman believed it unethical and wrong to officially represent me and take a fee since the reconsideration request had already been approved.
